Hi All,

Apologies if I missed something (Finally enjoying the car). Has a 2021 Spyder spreadsheet been created yet?

Thanks!

This spread sheet is amazing! What a very interesting and useful piece of work. Time well spent and much appreciated!

Is there thought to include wheels in the spreadsheet. I personally would love to see that. would anyone else?

Interesting data for sure!

Racing Yellow the rarest color excluding PTS.

18 Ways by far the most popular, despite few on this forum interested

Spreadsheet also illustrates the drying up of NA allocations. Big push Sep-Dec, few in Jan...now pretty much stuck at 475 for a month. Perhaps a good view of Porsche line scheduling.

These could go the way of the ever-increasing rare and sought after 997.2's produced in the post-recessions years of 2010-2011?

It could also mean that the person keeping the data is now spending more time driving his long-awaited Spyder and less time keeping spreadsheets updated since late-January.

VinAnalytics still shows the same number as of today...so there has been a lull for NA. Perhaps pushing 25th ANV through the line...there is a line limit and schedule of course.

The spreadsheet linked above is up-to-date with all VINs available on VINanalytics as of today. There are several new columns, all data is back filled for VINs that existed before they were added.

I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking the stop sale / 4.0 engine problems may have a silver lining for those of us who already have the cars in hand. If the problems impact production significantly, that means fewer (and rarer) cars.

I wonder if the delay in the next generation electric or hybrid 718 being developed will mean they will keep producing current generation 718s for another 3-4 years, perhaps with some minimal updates to meet changing regulations. Maybe they'll do a 5 or 6 year production run, building as many as the market will bear while they work to develop a suitable electrified successor.

These aren’t as mass produced as some models, but they also aren’t rare limited edition collector models. I hope they build one for everyone that wants to buy one for as long as they can. First, I hope they fix my engine and send me my damn car

That would be awesome. There is something that diminishes the joy in driving a rare/limited car. I have two such cars... (1 of 50 and 1 of ~500, or 1 of 2 if you count particular color/options) - and it would really suck to loose them. So they are kinda garage queens.

I'd prefer there would be more of these around. Helps with keeping them long term (parts availability, finding replacement car easier, etc).

Ron, it looks like you have been busy with other far more important things as opposed to updating this. I'd be interested in helping update and creating a 2020 spreadsheet. Care to share your technique with me? Or anyone else know how to harvest this data?

There are a couple of these out there between Spyder and GT4.

Unless I’m mistaken they surf each vin manually on VA and then enter the information in the spreadsheet...also manually.

Ha, ha, yes. I was really into it before I got my car, and since then work on it here and there. It is a tedious process, and since I have to work to pay for my car and then of course play with my car, time can be lacking.

As TXShaggy notes, it is a multi-part process, that involves finding valid VINs, then putting them into VIN Analytics, and then manually adding the desired items to the spreadsheet.

I was, and still am, very interested in the numbers since my car is Python Green. I wanted to see just how the colors turned out on numbers. It’s also quite interesting to see the split between manual and PDK, as well as seat types.

I’m certainly happy to share the specifics with you on how to do it. I’ll also force myself back to working on it. It gets challenging at a certain point because some cars don’t show up when they should, so you have to go back and check those again at a later date. That’s where I was as of the last updating I did.

Ron
