If you're really worried about it, using an actual serrated nut may be a better way to go, as you can get it tighter than the thumbscrew.

That looks awesome. I may be asking too much but would you by any chance have a photo from the front with the plate on? I would like to see how high/low the plate sits relative to the stock OEM mount. Thanks.

Thank you. Looks perfect.

Magnet is not without mess. Taking off the bumper and permanently glue something to the back of the bumper is indeed a mess to some.

Those looking for a cheap, easy and not bad looking front license plate option... Yes thats a piece of black weather strip tape! Go ahead say what you will but its a better spot than on the bumper and its better than the Carbino thingy... Its firmly mounted in place with the upper edge pressed into the inside crease of the grill and help with some more tape. Have driven on freeway and at high speeds with no movement.

Great idea dnimi123 this may work for me as I only need a temp fix. Any concerns with the block of airflow?

Not really concerned as air can get in around and behind the plate... and dont really care if my 'lap' times on my street suffer! Also as mentioned I think it looks better in this spot than on the bumper and Carbino sticks too far out. Not to mention its pennies for weather strip (my first iteration was black electrical tape). There are other variations too like with Velcro and getting the plate to sit more upright, but slanted like this works for me for now...

For those who can be patient, watch this space for my front plate mount solution. I think I’m on to something.
It’s a simple, no Drill solution, and really inexpensive, yet (I believe) fairly easy to implement.
I am almost finished with it, but I have to pause for a week or so to visit my brother in Fla La Land...
I should have it wrapped up by the end of the month, so stay tuned 👍

Ha! No patent... free to all Rennlister’s. But I’m really excited by this and I do expect this to be copied by professionals.

I have the same one Ron has, and will be applying it to the car when I get it. IMO that one is hard to beat for ease of install and because you can take the plate of easily. There was one member who’s already ripped of the Carbino holder
