When I bought the GTS the exhaust was very muted in comparison, but once over 4,000 miles it really changed and sounds way better now (same as the S). Obviously still a 4T but point being the sound really changed (for the better) and everything 'opened' up once it had been driven some. Just curious if anyone has seen this on the GT4/Spyder before rushing out to get an aftermarket solution from day one (in the US).
Yes I found the exhaust sound changes for the better after about 2000Kms. Definately has more burble sounds now too.
Does anyone get strange engine ting ting sounds under slight accel pedal application? Its less of that now, but still does it.

He's not 100% right there. On cars without OPF monitoring there's zero extra work required. For cars with OPF monitoring, we have a fix

by the way, I am planning to keep the valves unplugged (i.e., open all time). Do you think it will drone?
It won't drone as such as Luke demonstrated in his video above however the exhaust has been developed to be used with the exhaust flaps working as OEM so if you keep them open at all times you'll notice more sound down low. As you might expect.

Saved a screen shot of this for future reference

Ok, so now we have our own 718 GT4 it's time to play..

Video below of the set up pictured above

JCR TITANIUM SILENCED VALVED RACE PIPE / JCR TITANIUM MEGAPHONE TIPS / JCR PRE PRODUCTION OPF DELETE PIPES

Production spec OPF delete pipes will of course feature heat insulation around the vital areas of the pipe to protect chassis / drivetrain components from excess heat.

Now that sounds more convincing. Very crisp sounding. The stuff I was hearing of your stuff prior were all clips where the OPF was present. That's obviously proving a big handicap to the sound you can get out of this car.

There's a lot going on visually on that piece of jewelry... I can't figure where the valves are located.

Tricky to capture the sound on video. They always sound better in reality.

Valves are hidden in that pic, you can see them just about here

that sounded epic! Close to the sound of the gt3 with a racepipe imo.

Wow! How much louder would the same setup be with the non-silenced race pipe?

Sounds and looks fantastic. You’re making me spend too much money JC. When will the OPF delete pipes be ready for ordering and shipping?

As we divorce the smaller diameter route for the valves closed position properly from the pipe unlike the collector design of the OEM OPF pipe the sound differential with valves open between the silenced and non silenced race pipe will be very marginal. The main difference will be the sound level with valves closed, with the non silenced being louder than the silenced version by around 4dB

I just wish we could capture the true sound on video, so difficult. It does sound fantastic though, very reminiscent of our GT3 Race Pipe products, albeit at 1000rpm less.

Pricing for the OPF pipes will be set as soon as we have our first full Titanium production set back with us after having the heat shielding added by our partner in Germany, Thermisol.

Um...whut?

I see the word "divorce" in there, so I'll just assume that means that this is going to be expensive.

For those that haven't been following our 718 GT4/Spyder/GTS development thread, please feel free to follow the link below and catch up on what we've accomplished thus far and future plans. Street headers, competition headers, competition over axle pipes, race exhausts, valved exhaust systems, and a flurry of exhaust tip options are in the works and some are available for preorder now. Most recently we took our race exhaust out for a spin, which is featured in the video below. I appreciate your consideration and have enjoyed following this thread.

Jonny, great work on your product line and keep on pushing the platform my friend!

Best regards,
John Gaydos
