On PASM response: Ahhh, that makes sense.

You get PASM in both offerings, one is "PASM Sport", the other is just "PASM"
I think the 718 Spyder's PASM Sport is -30mm, so 10mm lower than the standard GTS 4.0 option. It's complicated...

Yup,its really disappointing that this was messed up like it has. Very amateur execution of what should have been a pretty straightforward launch.
I'm frustrated as I have my allocation and my Rep told me to just build 1 and generate the code so he could submit it and we'd refine it later.....that takes 1/2 the fun out of going through this process...

It's quite pathetic and frankly very surprising...

They just fixed the US configurator for the 718 GTS 4.0 today (it had most of the same issues as the Canadian one yesterday). Hopefully, they'll fix ours soon. PDK is also still missing from the Candian configurator for the GT4/Spyder.

Interesting track test. The Cayman needs cup2's to compete. The A45s is really impressive for the price.

Guessing the 6MT in the GTS 4.0 cost it some time...but made it more fun!

God bless,
TT

Not trolling but genuinely torn. Building out a 4.0 to my liking crosses just north of 100k. I’ve also been looking (drooling) at a 992 C2 which comes to $115 spec’ed.

When the first caymans came out I was in my 20’s and I fell in love (but couldn’t afford it). As the years went by it moved out of the n/a engines just as it finally came into my price range.

I had the oppo to drive a 911.2 c2 for a few hours through the Drive program last year and it felt/sounded great (only when PSE is on though). I test drove a 981 Cayman with a N/A engine years ago but never the 718s.

If the 992 came with a n/a engine it’d be a no brainer for me. So my question is whether the n/a engine is worth having the price so close to a 911? Not being able to test drive a 4.0 doesn’t help...

Just get a CPO N/A 911 (991 or even 997), done. If you're cross-shopping a Cayman with a 992, you're doing it wrong. Apples and asparagus.

I’ve definitely been looking at CPO 991.1s!

Yup, I'm in the same boat. My Cayman GTS spec is coming in just above 100k, which for some reason is a psychological barrier. I start thinking about the other cars I could get for 100k, and how much better this could be than my old 981 CS. Used GT4s can be had for well below 100k, as can all sorts of 911s. I guess I've got plenty of time to think until 2021.

Another advantage of GTS 4.0 over the Spyder is the wider exterior/interior color selection, including Espresso natural leather. I love my current 987 Boxster S in GT Silver with full natural brown leather so trying something similar on the GTS 4.0 configurator with Espresso. When I choose Espresso interior, the shifter cover and the shifter are still shown in black leather (the only black leather items in the cabin). Is this an error or is it how it's going to come in reality? Makes no sense to not do those in Espresso leather too.

wondering the same thing...the steering wheel shows a change to blue leather (and gear lever is hard to tell) but the wording says change to black leather
that's a no go for me...the old Boxsters had black steering wheels even if the interior was beige or some other non-black color....didn't like it then, won't like it now
