You might want to look at Tesla sport cars.
I'll stick with Porsches with Ices, thank you.

The 981 is very different.

I think so.
Of course it's different...that wasn't the point I was making. It was how that difference sounds.

I'll reserve judgement but if that video was accurate, the 981 flat 6 sounds better.

Yes, but it won't have the reactive coatings or sensors, so it's inert. Porsche includes it so that the back pressure is the same for all regions, allowing them to utilize a single global engine tune.

Oh, oh, sounds like it will still probably muffle the exhaust noise of the motor.

For Christ & heaven,

Thank you. So will it affect the sound then? And will it be easy to remove?

Yes, the GPFs (OPFs) muffle the exhaust sound, even when they're inert. I'm uncertain how easily they can be removed without requiring CPU changes; @JCR-Porsche seems to have some hands-on insight.

Perhaps this is OK since we will most likely be able to install a louder exhaust and what we may really want to hear is induction noise?

Sad if they muffle the exhaust as much as turbos do.

re: GPFs.

It’s a target rich environment for exhaust makers and tuners for markets where it is not required. Undoubtedly there will be myriad options and unlike cat-delete exhausts it will be very hard to argue that a faux-GPF-delete exhaust is ‘bad.’

Let us here in the USA hope! It may require the tuners and exhaust makers to work together to get a great sound and not mess up the performance of the motor and void the warranty.
