It's all right but nothing extraordinary certainly no where close to the flat 6 in the GT3 and GT3 RS.

and an astronomical difference in price, too. why not compare the base cayman to the gt2 rs while we're at it.

Sorry but those engine sounds were dubbed. Can't be sure about the drive bys but no question the shots from another car in front of the GTS were. I certainly wouldn't make a buying decision based on this.

There are many countries where annual quota for GTS 4.0 is 8-10 cars - Cayman and Boxster together. This is very niche product what comes to cars in general, althought in P-world this is not that extraordinary when comparing to GT2 RS, GT3 and GT4.

But what makes this GTS 4.0 sooo interesting, is that it is VERY close to GT4.

Wow that really sucks, my 2.5l GTS sounds better then that.

But the PR vids for the 4-bangers sounded even worse ;-)

I'm off to Estoril tomorrow AM to drive the new GTS anyway, I'll give some feedback then.

Spoke to a friend who drove the GTS last week...and while the engine is good...it does sound a bit flat....other than that there was nothing much else to report because the car felt pretty much the same, including its outright performance..The only mildly negative comment was that it felt marginally heavier. Overall, he was positive in that it is still a sweet handling thing with good performance and a better sound ....but he was not waxing lyrical about it.

The sound of the 2.5 definitely has more character. I also hate the positioning of the exhaust tips in the 4.0 cars.

How hard would it be to remove the particulate filters? Or how long until an aftermarket has a replacement exhaust component?
