For which I could forgive it's hideous looks and the fact that it's not a Porsche...
buy both, set fire to the one you don’t end up liking

IMO it looks like two different design teams worked on the car, one responsible for the front half of the car from the rear of the door jam forward and the second from their back. And they didn't communicate with one another. Then they just slapped the two halves together.

I love Vettes and really liked the C7, but the C8 is just a hot mess. And who designed the wheel options for that car? The look they belong on a Z24 Cavalier, not the brand's top sports car. I was really optimistic that Chevy would get the mid-engined Vette right and make it look Ferrari-esque, but they just totally blew it. And that interior. Looks like the inside of a coffin you'd design for an old retired Air Force pilot.

All that said, the race car's engine sound makes my naughty bits tingle, and I imagine with a wrap, wheels and some track aero treatments, the Z06 could be made to look a bit better than the regular C8s.

I've never been impressed with the base Corvettes, but they also cater to more of the 60's + crowd.

They do much better with the Z06. Obviously all stuff Z06 related is still rumor with only a few spy shots here and there, but many have suggested that the Z06 could have a different rear section. I suspect that they will lose the rear truck for a center exhaust, more aggressive diffuser, and maybe a little bit different lines on the rear panels. I am also hoping for a fixed roof and a wheel/tire combo that does not have much wheel gap and is flush with the fenders.

From a performance standpoint, it is gong to shock a lot of exotics, but GM needs to do the proportions better from the base car to look the part. I am a little bias, but IMO, the best car from a proportions POV to ever come out of GM is the SS 1LE. They nailed the wheel/tire sizes, flush fender, little wheel gap, and the stance.

Counterpoint: The C8 looks amazing. Like many of you, I’m the resident auto expert at work and the C8 styling has generated more positive feedback and questions than any car I can remember.

Is there any GT4RS “news”?

I think the C8 is a pretty big car now. I had one on order but there have been so many first year issues, I pulled my order. My big three dealer also was very shifty about telling me when I might get my car. I was able to determine on my own that I’d be at the bottom of the 2020s. I like how it looks and it is fast especially coming from my C7. But I’ve been so impressed with my last three Porsches I decided to order a Spyder instead.

I agree. The original NSX design is timeless and still looks great now. They should have just did an updated evolution of that design and not have the hybrid system and kept a manual transmission. Would have been real competition to the GT4 (assuming similar price point).

Do they normally test these kind of cars with PCCB's? I don't think they come standard on the RS model do they?

i am so curious about those window vents if same as 718 CS MR with tubing leading to engine.. and if so how they have piped them, and how much trunk space/visibility they will take.

i was hoping for slightly wider front track but i don't see that from these images.

I'd be surprised if those made it into production...
