Thanks! Yikes...can't imagine what almost doubling the rear rates would be like. I had a hard enough time adjusting the rear to minimize lifting over certain bumps.

Does anyone know if the price increase is the same in other countries as the US 5.2%.?
I've read in some countries ADM is not allowed so that is why the $10K matching VIN watch is required by the dealer as part of the sale of the car, since that tactic is legal in place of ADM.

From memory the 2022 PTS cost by itself was $12,830 in the US.

from what i can see on the Australian configurator it has also gone up around $12k AUD. It appears to include the day time lights, Bose speaker system, and the tire kit. There could be some more but i didnt notice. Normally these options would cost around $7-8k aud from memory.

The official answer to that is that Porsche doesn't want to do something that's jerry-rigged simply to pass the intent of the regulation. I asked them straight up and I got the answer.

The problem lies with Americans still doesn't want to wear seatbelts, and their law revolve around how an unbelted occupant might hit something hard in the car.

BMW's solution passed the letter of the law, but it doesn't on the spirit of the law.

That'll be 12k plus taxes plus on road costs. I also noticed the headlight upgrade option is no longer there.

The best change in the new configurator: Shark Blue seatbelts are an option for the GT4 now. It's just a shame that people can't order a GT4 anymore heh.

Even if we could, I'm glad I got my GT4 when I did, Australian specs just have PDLS+ and Bose audio, 2 options that I didn't even choose at $20k more RRP inc tax.
My RRP was $243k AU for MY21, if I specced the same car and added PDLS+ and Bose it would have added about $6k. Instead the same car is now $264k. That's about a 9% increase.

Yea, sure looks like transitory inflation to me.

The RS comes with a genuine FEV motorsport fire extinguisher e.g. has internal bladder (at least mine did). I also got the full cage from Porsche. I wouldn't go for the Ti 1/2 cage unless Porsche itself can provide the front half.

You need the steel cage if you want to bolt in the front half. Titanium one is half cage only with no option to extend (I believe it needs to be steel if you want FIA approval, so full titanium would be pointless)

Yes I know, I have the full CrMo Porsche cage - its fully compliant, signed off with DMSB certificate (in compliance with FIA homologation regulations for safety cages). Thats the point I was raising - do they make the front half in titanium, I don't know if they do.

With regard to cages, regs and supp.regs are different in different series and they change all the time (most quality race series are run under the guidance of national motorsport governing bodies which are nearly always aligned with FIA) - it wasn't that long ago that CrMo was frowned upon. I have no doubt it will change with titanium as well, if it hasn't already done so.

As a general rule the design of the cage is specified and the focus is on material shape, diameter, wall thickness and importantly tensile strength.
