Even if they limit the production for the GT4RS it won't have a premium greater than the speedster (which are trading below MSRP now) because they'll build more than 2,000 cars worldwide. I don't any stealership will get $100k, maybe $50k for the car for the stupid money that needs to have the first cars.
And I understand about mid-engine dynamics as my first Porsche was a 987.2 Boxster S, but I can't see why anyone would pay a 50K ADM for a GT4RS, when you have 991.2 GT3s with a far superior engine, selling for 145K.

If that is the case, it will destroy the GT3 line..

Sorry but that is total BS. I will be happy to bet you $1000 that your friend is wrong. I can't tell you how many people quote their friend in Porsche, at the dealer, in motorsport, etc.......but are still wrong when the official details are released. I saw this happen with the 992 carrera, the 991.2 GT cars, the 991.1 GT cars, and the 997 GT cars
Porsche is very careful about maintaining the hierarchy of the various model lines. The GT4RS won't get 490 hp. It won't even get 480hp. 450 is much more likely. People will still line up to buy it even at 450 HP if it is special/limited, particularly if it comes with PDK-S, which I hope it does.

The GT3 motor does not fit in the 718 GT4. Porsche has already said as much.

Who knows what the final spec would look like... i think all we can do is to share what we learned whether be rumor or fact ...Yes i can bet it wont have that glorious V8 engine LOL!
When i asked how sure he was regarding the GT3 engine... he said 100% sure given his reliable Motorsport source...but again who knows

Coming to the output, our very own rennlist reliable source Chris3963 mentioned " As I stated almost 1 year ago, expect 475-480 " & " Until I hear otherwise, PDK only " in previous posts. So 450 plus is more than just likely

I understand the enthusiasm for an "unleashed" GT4RS. However, Porsche has been VERY consistent with their RS models and it's more about lightness and aero than adding much horsepower. It's also about restraining the performance to fit into their pricing lineup. I would pay GT3 money for a manual GT4 w/ the GT3 engine, but it's never going to happen.

I don't think they'll give us more than around 450hp which I'm fine with. Throw some headers, pipes/exhaust, intake, and then a tune and you are in the high 400s.

^^^. Agree with the 450hp speculation. That feels right. Cannot imagine Porsche allowing it to get close to a GT3. For me the PDK with improved gearing over the mania should make it quite the catch. I speculate release in Q1 2021 with U.S. deliveries in late 2021. No idea on model year. All this could change baes on release of 992 GT3. With COVID it's anyone's guess on release dates.

When you start seeing test mules almost every 2 weeks at the ring testing...add +/- 1 year to launch.
So far the black car has been seen what...2 or 3 times?

The last GT3RS had 520hp. This is a 4% hp bump over the GT3. A 4% bump on the GT4 would be 430hp. A 5% bump would put it at 435hp. To get to 450hp, that would be a 8.7% bump so more than double the bump between the GT3 and GT3RS. Will be surprised if this happens unless the price is also significantly higher.
