Wow that's a long time to keep your eye on the pie. I would be happy with that hope it comes soon for you!

ditto...except for the part about 2017.

Went to Pfaff in summer of 2019 to get in line for an allocation, where I was (not so) politely told to “take a hike”.
Went to Policaro a few weeks later and was put on the list immediately with a $1K refundable deposit.
Once allocation came up in late fall 2019 I locked in spec and provided additional $4K, no longer refundable.
All orders in Ontario should be @ MSRP (or less, lol) as it is illegal for dealerships to charge ADM on a new vehicle in this province.

I don't believe it's illegal to charge ADM. Ford dealers were doing it on GT500. Most don't do it but do it in other ways. Also getting GT4 and Spyder allocations are not same as getting GT3/RS/2RS.

Where have you read that it is illegal?

I have been told (haven’t personally read it) that it is covered under the OMVIC rules. Any brand new vehicle, which is defined as a vehicle that has less than 90kms on the odometer at the time of purchase, must be sold at MSRP or lower. Once a car has more than 90kms on the odometer, it is considered a “used” car and can then be sold at “market value”. This is why I have also heard that certain GTA dealers order limited run (think GT2RS) inventory cars, then drive them around their parking lot for 91kms and then sell them at the higher “market” prices. I have no proof of that, it is only something I have been told by someone in the industry.

I know that to be the case with Porsche, no front end ADM on vehicle retail price. But my comment is based on a large Ford dealer. I had cancelled my deposit on a GT500 but month or so later decided I wanted one. General Sales Manager told me if I want an early allocation I need to now pay $15k extra. He also said and named another local dealer charging more.

Was not willing to do that on a GT500 and told them. He said to wait for a year and then there wouldn't be a need to pay extra.

Can somebody provide a concise (bullet point if possible) explanation of the different stages of vehicle status including the various “V****” numbers?
By that I mean from the time one has been allocated , to leaving the factory, and the associated time line.
Much appreciation, in advance!
If an anticipated delivery date is provided, what does that mean for an ED? I assume it would be a few weeks before the US delivery date, with a further delayed delivery date Home.

To compliment the post above...

V070 is just a demand for an allocation from a dealer. You are not guaranteed a car and have only requested that you want one.
V200 means Porsche has given your dealer an allocation and fulfilled your request. It stays there if they accept the items you have chosen in your build. If an item, like LWB's etc, gets turned down you will drop to a v170 status and your dealer needs to make changes. You go up from v200 when car goes to body shop etc.
V100- your order entered into the system. Could still be rejected if you select any of the seemingly random currently unavailable options.
V200- order accepted; delivery date (estimate) determined.
V250- vehicle fixed. No more goofing with the configurator and making your SA nuts like I did by changing your build options. Although I understand if you beg for a change after this date you may get it but generally with a delay in delivery.
V260- your car enters assembly
V270- your car exits assembly
V300- your car is considered completed by the factory and now your wait really starts if you are not on the European Continent.
V331- after sitting around at the factory your pride and joy has now arrived at the Port of Edem
V332- after waiting what seems like forever in Edem, your car is hopefully very carefully loaded on a ship bound for the U.S.
U006- after a long trip, stopping on the East Coast first to unload cars for those lucky folks who live there, your car makes it to the Port of San Diego.
U007- after sitting again for a week or two, clearing customs and going through any more required prep/transit repairs, your car leaves San Diego bound for your dealer.

Is this the option for ... “Sorry, the container carrying your vehicle toppled of the ship in rough seas. You new car is now being enjoyed by Spongebob and his friends.”

Thanks for all the helpful information. I hope I’ve acknowledged all who helped here.
I tried to do a “multi quote” but it apparently didn’t work.

this is a legitimate code for a destroyed vehicle, like the batch of 2RS that sank to the depths.

This will be interesting to see, tough to tell from forum threads, there must a good number of those who don't spend their days in front of the computer like we do!

I'd suggest looking at the 981 Spy vs GT4 breakout directionally, then plus up Spy numbers by 15-20% as it's marginally a better car vs. 981.

Only marginally, really? To me the 981 Spyder was not worth my purchase but the 718 Spyder is by far a better example of what it should be, an open top GT4.
