So opened up my just received PCA Panorama magazine and there was a bit on Q1 21 Porsche sales vs Q2 sales. 718 sales down 48% from 1506 from 782. 911 sales down but only 24% panamera up 75% and taycan down 4.1%. Drop in sales caused by production delays due to semi conductor chip shortage. From these numbers it is clear 718 is on the lower end of the priority list… also most raw material to produce semi conductors is either in Ukraine or Russia…

Yep, exactly. This is something a lot of people tend to forget. SM/GM/Dealer Principal are really the ones who decide on ADM. I think most SA's would love to sell cars at MSRP...But there's more at play behind the scenes.
When it comes to allocation release cycles, I've been trying to figure it out for a very long time, and it still doesn't entirely make sense to me. 'Normal' cars are allocated monthly...GT cars are completely separate and are less frequent. Probably safe to say that the monthly cycle will include Cayenne and Macan (maybe some Taycans), but it may not always include sports cars...Perhaps in other cycles (or 'part two' cycles in a month), they focus less on the SUVs/Taycan and more on sports cars.
If you call around to enough dealers and ask when they received their last allocations, then ask when they expect their next round, you may be able to gather more context. Some of my SA's say that they receive allocations in a meeting with their regional manager...then they just sorta pop-up as allocation "buckets" in their system assigned to a month. Typically, the allocation is at V200 at that point, or at least it soon becomes V200 after a configuration is attached to the bucket, and we have info re build date, eta, etc.
In regards to the ‘cycles’, it is giving me some flashbacks of my younger days worrying about the ‘cycles’ making sure I am not a daddy.
I think in the current environment ie COVID, sinking ship, Ukraine; everything is out of whack.

I officially have my allocation. Looking at end of the year delivery. Also this shows as a MY23 just in case people still weren't sure if we were getting another year of the GT4. I have a V200 code as well so I know its an actual allocation and not a wait list.
I received my allocation from Porsche of Oklahoma City. I didn't ask them if they were getting anymore in.

I am unsure how much of a premier dealership this one is (I live in California), however the dealerships that are local to me still don't have any word on allocations so its possible they just don't sell as many.
He is a great guy! I passed on this allocation because I bought a used one just a few days before he told me. I would have taken it. Anyways, congrats!
