When I wanted to place an order for the Spyder earlier this year, my SA was the most courteous (No BS) and offered it to me at MSRP + dealer installed options worth $2k. I'll share my experience as this progresses, however still, I highly recommend them even from a service perspective as they are very particular (almost OCD, like me)

Edit: for those wanting to know the name of my SA/ Dealer, PM me and I'll be more than happy to share. I must have called almost 15 dealers and have some good contacts, although I cannot promise an allocation. :P

They require that MY CAR be fitted with a GPS tracker that they can utilize, and I have to pay for it? That's insane. I've heard of it with those low didge buy here pay here dealers but on a new Porsche? Yikes.

I don’t believe they have any access to it. I agree though, I would just take it out and sell it. It’s essentially an ADM, with the only benefit being that you can sell it or if you want to keep it in, it works with police systems if your car ever gets stolen. It’s probably not a bad idea for those that live in Atlanta, where the dealer is located lol. I think he said it’s called Scorpion.

Or you can repurpose it and put it in your kids car or a work vehicle if your a small business owner.

No, the GPS tracker is for personal tracking, not the dealer - I dont mind spending the money but would prefer converting it to a PPF as I plan on getting it anyway.

The truth is if my Spyder is ever stolen, I don't even want it back. I couldn't care less about locating it. Just pay me FMV and I'll move on.

Frankly I'd offer to pay them part of the $2000 in exchange to not touch the car and install some crap.

Yes I would not be sanguine about splicing any type of GPS or other type add-on into the harness, even if it was just a plug in. {Ghosts in the machine (wiring loom) esp. of it is a newly sourced wiring loom]. Having said THAT it does appear that many have had good luck with the AOS kill box, but those were in the old source wiring looms. I come from an aviation background and splicing stuff into existing looms can sometimes lead to problems. Just sayin'

Same lol.

Whoever on here that had to accept the dealer's window tint package as part of the deal for an allocation... if that was me I'd definitely have paid them to tint the inside of the shop's garbage can over the windows on my car.

I'm going shark blue with gold wheels LFG!

and most importantly:
1) It will be my DD,
2) it will be a manual
3) It is gonna see A LOT of track days drifting around buttonwillow and laguna and streets and the big *****

See you track animals out there later this year LFG!!!!!

Congrats!! I really hope I get the same news sometime this year. Currently #5 on the list for a GT4 at a local dealer. They are high volume so I'm comfortable going with them. Was #7 last month but looks like they got two allocations this month.

Nice! That is exactly my situation as well. What dealer if you don’t mind me asking? Send me a PM please, or share the state at least. Thank you

Yeah I hope you get one, it worried me that this is now year end #3 for the gt4. They might do a small year 4 as in 2023 MY, but 0% shot we make it to year 5 as a 2024 on the normal gt4. So really 12 more months is pretty close to the max here to get an allocation so I jumped on it with a very small ADM (7500). I think they'll continue the GT4rs and pump a **** ton of those out as the margin is great for them, I need manual tho...

And I just brought my M4 brakes back to stock and retired it after 7 years, so I need a track car.

anddd These gt4 are the best porsches ever. I had a 997 gt3, I had a 991.2 GT3rs, these cars are BETTER! just a way more tossable fun car than the Gt3/gt3rs and a more modern MUCH BETTER handling 997 gt3. Anyone looking for a 997/991 gt3....DON'T, just buy one of these hahaha

Is the dealer in Ohio charging you a markup or sticker?
