Anyone know how the # of 25s produced compares to the # of Spyders produced? I think they make more GT4s than Spyders so I won't ask about those.

I hope so too! It’s a really cool car, even if we can’t all agree on the special trim bits it offers. This SA sells most things at sticker, so not much of a difference to him between a GTS 4.0 or this Boxster. For his good/repeat clients, he does sticker on GT4/Spyder (with a wait of course).

I will say one thing though — I’m picking a 25 Years allocation at sticker over a regular GTS 4.0 allocation with a steep ADM any day of the week!

https://newsroom.porsche.com/en_US/2...ere-23382.html

Press release says 1250 Worldwide.

Probably that many (or more) Spyders in the US alone.

I find nothing about that anniversary car that excites me. The gold accents sans the wheels are god awful. Just yuck.

Can confirm the car at the BMW store was a theft recovery that had substantial damage sustained. (Though it had not yet shown up on the carfax). The dealer wholesaled the car rather than try to retail it with that known history.

Used 2020 GT4’s are transacting at about MSRP +$15k. 2021 would be a little higher. CPO from Porsche dealership adds about $4k. Obviously, this is a generalization. A Miami Blue car went on BAT recently for less. (About $12k over). GOOD modifications (substantial PPF/nice exhaust system, etc, add about 40-50% of that original cost)
This is great information thank you. In your opinion when do you see GT4’s going for MSRP? If the market predictions are correct it should be end of 2022-early 2023?

Lots of factors to consider and not 100% sure on your question.

1: A good number of GT4’s ARE and have been sold at MSRP. There are many good dealers who focus on getting and keeping good customers. IMO, a smart dealership will sell to LOCAL clients at MSRP in an effort to KEEP those cars and clients local. This doesn’t help folks calling all over the country asking to buy at MSRP. If you think about it, say a buyer in LA is somehow able to buy at MSRP from a dealer in, say, Omaha.... realistically, in a year (or 2 or 3), what are the chances that car will get traded back to Omaha? Dealer is WAY better off keeping those cars local!

2: I don’t foresee GT4/GTS/Spyder supply meeting demand during this production cycle. Certainly not GT4. This is only a guess, based upon past patterns, but we are already well into the 2nd model year production of the car. 981 was one year only, 2 for GTS. If compared to GT3 patterns, the company reduced, then stopped production of “regular” GT3 as they ramped up production or RS version. If my prediction holds true, then I think ADM dealers will likely keep some level of ADM.

Of course, this is all dependent upon a fairly stable economy. Anything leading to a dramatic, sustained drop in investment values, would change the demand side. A 1% increase from Federal Reserve over the next year will not have a substantial effect.

On used GT4’s, again, very economy dependent, but I could see 2020’s with 10k miles trading at MSRP in maybe a couple of years. 2016’s stayed there until 2018-19, where they could be had at $10-15k UNDER MSRP. Of course, brought back up during the last 18 months with almost everything else cool/desirable. I often remind my clients hoping to wait for prices to come back down, that AT LEAST 10% of these price increases are due to inflation/lower value of $$’s. That part is unlikely to change in the near future, if ever.

Hope that’s some reasonable food for thought.... YMMV. Past performance does not guarantee future results, and if I could really tell the future, I wouldn’t have to work anymore!

CheeRS!
Joe

Heck, no one can even say with certainty whether these lines make it into '23. I don't believe Porsche has clearly said, one way or another.

Always in motion is the future.

They have not. That is a question I asked my SA and he said they have not officially stated whether they are going into 2023 with them.

And now being up against the last few months of '22 production, I wonder if my order falls off the end if there is no '23. My latest schedule shows build completion mid May. If '23 production starts in July...I'm getting close.

There's a GT4 and Spyder allocation available at McKenna Porsche. Did not ask about ADM though.

I spoke to an LA dealer yesterday that had both a Boxster GTS 4.0 and a Cayman GTS 4.0 allocation, locking late Feb. $15K ADM (but sounded somewhat negotiable). PM me if you'd like details.

Can also send info/details if anyone is on the east coast looking for either at $10K ADM for one Cayman GTS 4.0 and one Boxster GTS 4.0.

Spidey has horse sense. It is a $25K ADM at McKenna. Have to be in-region to get the allocation. I'm in the midwest so S.O.L. on this one.
Alex was kind enough to pick-up the phone before they opened this morning. Give him the business. Really well informed, nice to talk with, motivated.

Cheers.

Did they mention build or delivery dates?
