LOL! What is even happening?!?

This same car has now popped up at Porsche Delaware with an extra 50 miles and with an asking price $19,000 MORE than Bridgewater BMW was asking. It does not appear to be offered as a Porsche CPO...

Some have suggested previously on this thread that this particular 2020 GT4 may have had a problematic history in its short life. Caveat emptor...

I recognize that this some may say this is borderline off topic for this thread. But anecdotes like this help us get a better understanding of the overall market for these cars and help put the ADMs on new allocations into perspective..

LOL if this is the same car from Bridgewater, then it was stolen and had both bumpers replaced along with a control arm

$147K for what is basically a stripper GT4 with maybe a $115K sticker? With history? Yikes.

I don’t feel so bad paying what I just agreed to on my 2022 Spyder spec.

Really, Wow! I was just going to say from the pictures in the dealer website, they could have least taken it to the detail shop, it's a mess!

I noticed the BMW dealer's still had a live link to a CarFax report for it: https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistor...&partner=FRD_2
There's nothing particularly notable that I see on that report.

Porsche Delaware is the most Swing-for-the-Fences dealership in the Mid-Atlantic. I remember during the summer they had a Turbo S for something like $350k for awhile.

Some of this dealer behavior is giving me serious bubble vibes. It seems like you see more and more irrational behavior right before a bubble pops. With GT cars I'm seeing more than a few cars that are getting sold from dealer, to dealer, to dealer with no consumer purchases in between. I'm also seeing that a bit with other brands like McLaren and Ferrari. A car that sat for months gets bought and relisted for $20k more. And sometimes it's for cars that didn't sell in a high income area, but then some indie dealer in NC or something buys it and lists it for more. That can only end in tears at some point.

I just don't see why anyone would pay almost $30k over for a 2 year old GT4, even without the stories. But maybe this is a strategy by dealers to make their markups on new allocations seem reasonable.

I’ve sold 2 and helped with a 3rd. I’m absolutely convinced that “fair market value” for a sub 5k mile 2020 GT4 is MSRP +$15k. Some small add for extras like substantial PPF possible. CPO adds 3,500-4,000 value.

For a 2021, I’d add $4-5k, so figure about $20k over.

IMO, asking MSRP + $30k is silly and just wishful thinking that an uninformed wealthy person shows up. The funny thing is, that in my experience, there are not a lot of stupid people who can afford $100k + cars! I’d rather treat my customers with respect and intelligently discuss analysis of real market value.

It’s only an ask. You can always settle for less.

Good marketing, gives people something to look at while at the dealership. My dealer had a generic CPO GT4 build that was at around $150K ask. Sat around for awhile, but they put a “package” deal together on it and moved it.

Maybe they lower it to $15K if you buy a Macan or take wholesale on your Porsche trade-in.

Bottomline, it generates interest and engagement. Looked, it worked people talking about it on RL!

Not all attention is good attention. They could put in a requirement that the sales manager gets to motorboat my wife in return for a test drive and we'd all talk about it, but it doesn't mean we're more likely to spend money there. At a certain point crazy asks just tell me it's a dealership I don't want to waste my time with.

It happened while BMW had it for sale... If you know anything about CarFax, it can take MONTHS for things to show up.

If it's repaired by BMW in house they probably won't disclose it on carfax. It's 100% optional to update anything there as those are 3rd party services anyway and dealerships might have some pull in what gets sent and what doesn't.

Ah @G.Irish , that’s nothing. This beauty has been sitting for like 6 months, $499K TurboS. Pinnacle of ridiculous.

Isn't that paint code like a $100k option? Can't imagine the dealer would have specced that.
