Perhaps, but if you want a car now then this is going to save many months of waiting (assuming that you already have an allocation) and as it is certified then it also has an extended warranty...

Yeah exactly. An almost $20k markup on a used GTS that you didn't get to spec is insane to me. There are used GT4's at smaller markups than that, that have been sitting for months.

Very fair point, but you could also end up spending less on a new car depending on how you spec. Hypothetically, 109 MSRP, 15K AMD still puts you about 5K less...

Quick update on my previous post… My CGTS 4.0 was on schedule for 06/22 delivery (deposit was placed 07/21)… just got an email today from my advisor informing me that he was able to move the timeline up. Car is entering production on Feb 4/22, with delivery in 04/22! This is in Vancouver, BC at MSRP.

My SA had indicated that, unless they play games with swapping allocations, dealers can't affect the dates. @AR95 Did your commission number change?

I think part of my curse is I am an old non-adm allocation. They are probably motivated to close out on the newer adm ones, because they represent more immediate profit. My dealer is therefore dis-incentivized to move me to a nearer delivery date allocation. I’m not saying they are doing this, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

My understanding is that the manufacturer (Porsche in this case) tells the dealer not to exceed MRSP and can levy penalties (reduced allocations, cancel the franchise agreement, etc). That pressure by the dealer is illegal in the USA, but not in Canada or most of the rest of the world.

Given what I see in the planned and expected dates, this was the case all along... Normally once the allocation is made and contains a commission number the dates are locked, they can move but that is based on the factory (expected date), nothing to do with the SA. In your case both the planned and expected dates are the same and there have been no changes.
To be fair, the “original” delivery date of 06/22 was only what I was told verbally. This is the first time I got to see the production schedule w/ commission number. Whatever happened, I’m just excited that I’m now able to enjoy the car for the entire summer!
