I don't think the GT4 is made anywhere special, pretty sure the non GT 911, and all 718's are made in the same factory

Wait, so what are we saying? GT2, GT3's are made in the Porsche Motorsports factory, but the GT4, Spyder GTS's are all made on the regular assembly line?
What about 911 GT3 Touring? And the 911 GTS?

the rest you named are in zuffenhausen
any GTS is not a GT car, it is the top base trim level with popular options as standard

Advanced
I got an allocation in May. Delivery date is now 10/22. Fingers crossed. The original delivery date was 8/22. I got $2k off. It's the second Porsche I've bought from Manhattan Motorcars.
I'm still trying to sell my 2016 981S MT at close to the price I paid for it.

I am not aware of a Porsche Motorsport Factory.
On my last tour I visited Stuttgart, Leipzig, and Weissach, and can confirm that the non-race cars such as the GT3, GT3RS, GT4 are "developed" by the GT team, but are assembled the same line as the series cars, which includes the GTSs.
The Race Cars which are sold by the Porsche Motorsport division and not through dealerships; such as the 718 Clubsport and the 911 Cup Car, and the GT3R are essentially assembled by hand in a large warehouse in Weissach that looks more like a airplane hanger. And, they are all built at the same time in a group and stored until sold out.

I know I read something that confirmed this one way or another, but don't recall the answer and can't find the post: are there generally any allocations released in August while the factory is shutdown?

Interesting - my SA noted next round in September with delivery late Q4 early Q1. As long as more allocations appear with deliver before next April I'm not picky at this point (given all the salt car is in storage November to late March usually).

May see a very light drop in September due to 911 GTS needing to fulfill estimated on-sale dates early in Q1 (would need to be produced towards end of Q4 to do so for cars heading to the West coast), but most dealers have cars allocated through December at this point and even some in Q1 already, so the year is going to be winding down. Chip shortages and supply concerns are still challenging and causing some delays.

In July I received an allocation that doesn’t deliver until Q1 2022; they’re already into that quarter.
