Congrats! Now how did you get your allocation a week after me yet have a delivery date of almost a month sooner?!

If you spent a few minutes looking you would have seen lots of people have MY22s being delivered in sept/oct and got allocations between end april 1ish to end of may for production in the last 3 weeks of july. The next round is going on now for allocations also it seems. If you wait you will likely get one because I'd bet big there will be MY23s; if you can't wait buy used.

My car is coming off the ship tomorrow but just found out Porsche is holding the car until the new global release date of 1 Oct. Has anyone taken delivery of 2022 BGTS 4.0?

They did that last year as well. Although I think those with a 2021 didn't get theirs released until like end of Jan. because of Covid.

Wow, that is going to be a long 2 months, especially this time of year!

Considering us conrod folks have been waiting since March/ April, and most are still waiting; 2 months is a small price to pay for us not taking their allocation. Porsche looked out for them IMO.

If it informs the conversation any...my spyder allocation only freed up because a big spender was dragging his/her feet, and my SA squeezed me in to nab it. Are there any spyder builds for us mere mortals who don't get lucky? If nothing else shows up this week, does that mean the spyder is done? <shrug>

I feel your pain. Mine was originally planned for September 10th but I was informed today that it is now expected on October 29th. Sigh.

We'll see, but is the RS going to be a MY22.5 and then killed, or is it going to be a MY 23 to squeeze some value out of making it? My opinion is no reason to build a MY23 RS and not include limited production of all the other models they can sell along side it as filler.

The next gen is unlikely to be ready for MY23 also. It's being labeled as a MY24 replacement already. People on here were convinced MY22 would never happen either.

No doubt, and for frame of reference, I went on a list for 2020 Spyder in the spring of 2017, traded in my 2016 BGTS in July of 2019, didn't get an allocation until September of 2019 and because of factory shutdown due to Covid-19 didn't get my Spyder until mid-July of 2020... so I know a thing or two about waiting.

MY 2021 718 release had nothing to do with COVID.

The on sale date was always 4 Dec.

The EPA certified the 2021 MY middle of Nov and were immediately released for sale.

CARB cert came about a month later for those 12 CARB states.

Early builds were in port in late Sept.

Same for 992s; which were in port in July I believe.

Porsche has a MY release date and they attempt to get the EPA/CARB done in parallel.
