I was simply disappointed about not being able to get SPASM, 16.9-gal tank, and GT4 shifter from the factory, so if I could find a fully loaded CPO T with most of the options I want, and colors I could live with, I'd consider it. That's all. Still not crazy about paying 90 grand (plus TTL) for this car, and getting it so late, so if I could save some time and bucks, I'd certainly consider that. And no, I paid no deposit; dealer never called to charge me, after the CDK Global fiasco. Oh, and now I could get the same MSRP deal locally (on a '25), which wasn't the case before, rather than 600 miles away. And even on a GTS, but decided against it.
Just do what makes you happy. Really surprised your dealer let you order a car with no deposit but that is great. I do not think that was an option for me.

I ordered it during the software issue, where they couldn't sell anything, or order anything either, so that's probably why they took forever to send my order to Porsche. But never received the call to collect the refundable 5 grand, so a nice surprise... but it could come at any time, I guess, especially as it gets closer. Anyway, it's going to be really hard to find anything close to what I want, since I have so many 'must have' options, so most likely will have to wait for an ordered car. If it's delayed beyond October, I might pass on the '24 I have ordered in Austin now. It's basically the same cost they had it built before I changed it, but a much nicer build, so I actually did them a favor. Ha ha. I 'found' it 2 days before the allocation locked on 6/17.

I was asked for $10 grand. My sales agent (who did a great job) did not say refundable but he did say they usually would not keep it. I took that to be maybe refundable lol.

Mine took no deposit throughout the whole process surprisingly, just paid in full the day it got out of PDI. Porsche West Broward was very cool with that, I do know that sometimes they require deposits with other SA's but mine Ariel never asked once.

Mine asked for $10,000 originally. I gave $5,000 on a card and it seemed done but then I asked if he needed the other $5000. Maybe I should have kept my mouth close lol.

Maybe they reserve judgment depending on the build, no? I asked for my deposit to be refundable in writing, since my build had nothing that would make it hard to sell, and SA agreed. That might be why they didn't bother to follow up with a deposit, but who knows. I prefer not to pay a deposit, but I agreed to it ($5K), and would have paid it on the spot. The Cayman was far from the perfect car for me, but it's probably the one that will drive the nicest (especially in 6MT), and look the nicest, but will not get used that much, since my wife won't approve to travel on it. I looked at the Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing, but the interior looks super cheap (even with the optional expensive leather packages), with upper door and dash vinyl. Even the Corvette looks MUCH nicer, especially in 3LT trim. And it guzzles fuel like there's no tomorrow, with a small fuel tank (similar issue with my Cayman, without the 16.9-gal option), so that was a detraction. And they'll probably depreciate like a rock, and not be nearly as reliable as the Cayman, so decided not to pursue that car. But the Tremec 6MT version had great reviews. That car would be driven MUCH more than the Cayman, hence why I was considering it. But nobody has one, so without being able to drive it, and judge by myself, no way I'd buy one blindly. The last manual option was the M3 or M4, but the tranny and shifter leaves a lot to be desired, so didn't pursue those anymore. My other option was to forego 6MT, and I'd have WAY more options, but my family insisted I got a manual (even though nobody drives stick), so I obliged. Ha ha.

No email here. At least not yet. So what is the new stage? Probably end of production, no? I'm curious about that too. So now 4/11 on the website? Will check it now, and see if it moved from 3/11.
