Emden to US West Coast @ 2024

yea I just got surprised by the email after a recent TYD update saying my car wasn’t scheduled to leave the German port until 5/6. Seems like my anticipate delivery date (6/15) hasn’t changed yet though so I’m not sure when I could expect it in Utah.

As of ~9:45am Pacific, Jiuyang is sailing past Carmel / Pebble Beach right now. Based on the weather overlay, it looks like currents will be favorable the rest of the way to Benicia. For those who live / work in downtown SF or Marin, head to the GG Bridge around lunch time and take a picture for us as Jiuyang sails beneath it. Cross our fingers the port authorities doesn't tell it to go into a holding pattern...
Almost there!

I just got a text from the dealer prompting me to take a survey on the service done to my car. Immediately called my SA and sure enough, it was dropped off last night.
Getting real close!!!!

Yay for the Blossom getting close! The weird thing is my car has disappeared from my TYD. I think I've read that this has happened to folks before.

Woohoo... but then again I just checked Marine Traffic is showing that Blossom is now idling (or moving at 1.6mph) just west of Santa Cruz. so it's not docking around noon as it's already 1pm Pacific, and maybe that 7pm time frame is it but who knows now.

While it was sailing up to the Bay Area, I noticed Jiuyang stopped at least three times (including this most recent one). First time near Lompoc, then Monterey, and now Santa Cruz. Maybe they're taking tourist pictures of the California coast and doing whale watching.
Anyways, it looks like ship started the engines again and is heading to SF at ~13 knots. ETA of 7pm-ish sounds about right. Unless they stop again to take pictures of the GG Bridge and the City skyline at sunset....

When you do that, it is projecting that Blossom will get to the Golden Gate position in 2 hours, so it is possible to extrapolate that another 2 hours possibly after that to get to Benicia dock... I hope I'm wrong, but that means it won't get there until 10 to midnight tonight.
