FWIW, Glovis Companion spent several days anchored off of China Basin before it proceeded to the port at Benecia. Be prepared for a bit of wait before the vessel gets its turn to dock and unload.
I just did the TYD hack and determined that my car, which was just unexpectedly put on a ship yesterday, is on the Glovis Courage. That ship is slated to go to the east coast - seems like a long way to go to get it from Brunswick to Salt Lake City,
Thanks both! Too bad Jiuyang came in after dark; it would have been great if the sun was still out. I got some blurry screenshots as well. Great news it’s heading to the port. Do you think the stevedores are there waiting to unload the cars tonight or they wont show up until the morning?

Edit 1: it was looking as JB was going to Hunters Point to park, she just turned North to Benicia!
Last one for the night: It’s hard to make out but here’s Jiuyang after it passed under the Richmond Bridge. It’s the bright row of horizontal lights to the left of the bridge. Not the best screenshot - sorry!

I answered my own question. Checking Jiuyang this morning, good news: it is at the port. Bad news: it’s not docked so even Vessel Finder still shows it hasn’t officially arrived in Benicia (it still shows an ETA). I’m guessing it arrived too late last night so it had to wait for the port crew, stevedores/ drivers, customs officials, et al to arrive this morning. Let’s hope this is the case and it will start unloading in a couple of hours….
EDIT: ignore above. Vessel Finder had an outdated tracking. Marine Traffic does show it is docked. I have not received a milestone 9 email though so it might be waiting for personnel to arrive.

This is unbelievable! I wish I knew how to help… what is your S.A. saying?
Coming from the Porsche rep via my SA; apparently the Gateway module on my vehicle(and 500 other vehicles) have not been replaced yet and thus my vehicle and others's can't be boarded on ships to the US. The rep is trying to expedite this process so that my vehicle is loaded on one of the next three ships (west coast ships I assume). Given that we see 1-2 west coast ships per month, I could be in Emden another month and a half unless they add additional ships, something they said Porsche is doing to clear the backlog of cars.
Not that it helps get your car over any sooner but at least you got some reasonable sounding answer. I really would like to understand Porsche's methodology in how they were replacing the component and subsequent loading cars on the ships. It just seems so haphazard. I had a late Dec / early Jan build that was impacted by this issue, my car sat in Emden for two months, missed a couple of boats but then (luckily) got on Jiuyang. However, you're in a similar situation but your component still hasn't been replaced yet. One would think they would sequence the replacement in terms of build date or some other rational method.
Frustrating head scratcher. Your immediate best bets would be Glovis' Dong-A Metis (even though it currently doesn't have Benicia as an official stop, I assume it will have to add it) or NYK's Wild Rose Leader - I wish you all the luck you hitch a ride on one of the two.

Update: as of moments ago, it's been confirmed that my specific vehicle has indeed received the new module/chip and should be boarded on the next few ships. I'm not sure if it now enters a queue behind other cars deemed ready to ship or if it will be boarded as a priority.
As to how Porsche is deciding which vehicles board ships; I would assume it has to do with the $$$$. They may prioritize vehicles that are quickest sold and turned into revenue. They obviously would not stop the assembly line, so new vehicles coming off the factory floor get the modules/chips. Then, any left over modules/chips(assuming there is a shortage of these new chips) would be prioritized to vehicles sitting in US ports/now at dealers waiting on parts. After those are cleared and turned into $$$, then the surplus modules would go to cars sitting at German ports, most likely in order of arrival at port. I think German port vehicles would be last priority because they are the last to be turned into revenue since they sit on ships for a month or so after fixed. The assumptions are that these modules are truly in short supply, and the variables would be the availability of mechanics are at the ports and that there is more than one Porsche model needing repair at ports. This is only my guess as to how it's being done.
I hope we are all on the next ship and that this nightmare ends soon.
