Went to replace my exhaust gaskets between the head and manifolds in the search for this nasty sound I only hear at around ~2800 rpm. Gaskets looked great but wondering if this is the smoking gun.

Is this header Fuched?

Edit: the other header is definitely cracked, added pics. In the market now I guess.

Michael: unless there is bad rust in the header, I would get it Tigged by a good welder. Looks like the guy who first built it could have done a better job. If has become tinfoil, compounded by cracker crumbs, which it doesn't appear to be, then get a new one. .02 cents. now a nickel..LOL!

Managed to replace all the clutch hydraulics since the MC was leaking. Hearing a crunching from the parking brakes so I pulled the rotors and the pads were fine but lots of buildup, so cleaned all of that out.

Spent about 2 hours adjusting the parking brake and got everything perfect at 2 clicks. Pull up on the handle to set full parking brake and hear a loud "SPORING!" from the rear of the car.. wheels spin free unless I have the handle all the way up... Said "F-IT" and rebuilt the power steering pump and removed the steering rack to exchange for a rebuilt one.

Not sure WTF happened with the parking brake, but I'll look at it again later. I doubt it has ever been adjusted correctly.

Also got the rebuilt A/C lines back, cleaned the condenser and radiator. Just waiting on the replacement compressor and such from Griffiths.

Were you adjusting the brake at the wheel or at the handle?
Limited access but you can make a nice improvement by adjusting the cable where it connects to the handle.

I followed the directions on Clarks. A PO had the handle adjustment all the way in and the PB never worked that great. So I ran the adjustment almost all the way out and then started at the wheels buy moving the adjusters there. After they were set properly, I set the handle two clicks and moved the adjuster in, until I could hardly move the wheels by hand. Released the brake and the wheels spun free. Two clicks and they were difficult to turn.

Had the seat out from doing the clutch master so was the perfect time to do the parking brake.

From what I could see, the wheel adjusters had never been touched before. I'm guessing once things were adjusted properly and when full pressure was applied to the system for (likely) the first time since the car left the factory everything moved to its proper place. Thus throwing everything out of adjustment...

While I'm waiting on a buddy to help me install my transaxle. I've been working on my custom cold air intake. I finally have it on the car. It need a little cleaning and also wet sand & buffing on the carbon. When its completely finished and looking good I will post a final pic. What you guys think so far?

while it looks cool, the factory air box already was a "cold air intake".
you'll be better served getting a DME tune or better yet, ditching the AFM for a MAF/MAP conversion...

Changed the oil and filter in the S2, checked the timing and balance belts to see if they needed readjusting since I installed 1200 miles ago, they seemed fine to me so I left them alone. While all 4 feet were in the air I checked for wheel bearings and ball joints slop or noise. Then looked over the transaxle for leaks and checked the CV joints for slop. Forgot to change the antifreeze though

Time to bleed the brakes and the clutch. Needed to get a pretty small wrench for the clutch, and its tricky to get all the air out. Patience is needed. Finally I jacked up the back end which I think helped.

Started my clutch replacement. Man those bolts for the speed & ref sensors are a pain with the early HCV in the way. The sensors are still in the car, too. Dropped the exhaust, pulled the starter and clutch slave. Unhooked the shifter inside the car. That's about as far as I got today.
