Removed the Sun Roof switch and cleaned the contacts. Used the smallest file I could find.
Installed and the sun roof works.

Examining the PO wire job on rear wiper switch.
It's bad. Will replace or repair.

Removing top of sunroof trans to clean and lube.
Will replace my current trans with missing teeth.

Rebuilt the power steering pump......twice. If you let the vanes fall out you CAN reinstall them the wrong way. The important thing to remember is to make sure to wrench the pully (the one you bent the s@#t out of with the puller) down tight before checking for free movement. That way you get to bend the pulley twice and then once more when you realize (even though you knew it) the mounting bracket needs to go on before the pulley.

Default door card refresh

made good progress on repairing both door cards. fiberboard had begun to come apart in places, and the PO chose the pocket area of both cards for an additional speaker. I closed up those holes, reinforced the attachment holes with fiberglass cloth and resin, and covered the exterior of both cards in 6 oz fiberglass cloth. Going to try my hand at dyeing the leather on the armrests and consoles.

Replaced starboard lower ball joint boot. My first time with a separator tool - BAM! I scribed around the eccentrics so I could them back where they were, so no realignment needed. In theory. Port side is next.

Picked up some 8"/9" forged 16" CS wheels locally from a 951 owner. Wheels are 928.362.117 and 928.362.119 with ET 60. Psyched!

Do the 951 rims have the 928.XXX.XX designation as well or could these be original Design 90 rims?

Real 8" CS wheels will have the embossed bits on them, like Hoi described. Sounds like he scored the real deal.

Part # 928 362 117, with the '17' looking like the mold was modified:

Offset: 8J x 16 ET 60, with the '60' modified likewise:

Looks like I got lucky. Owner of 2 951 decided to sell his club sport wheels. Advertised as 944 turbo wheels in local craigslist here in suburban Philadelphia; however I thought they may be 928 CS when he sent me a pic with 928 parts number, even though he gave a 7-slot old 928 wheels parts number erroneously in his ad.

Here are the pics of the wheel numbers. He told me last week that he has four 9" wheels, but when I picked them up today, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that that are the real deal 8"/9" staggered forged club sports. 225/50 in front and 245/45 rears. Not in perfect shape but presentable.

Hoi

Next time don't use a file or sandpaper. It creates grooves in the contact area, decreases surface area and creates arcing points (lots of them). Instead use 000 steel wool or cardboard,

Default door card and interior trim progress

Worked on cleaning all the old foam padding off one of the rear quarter trim pieces. My leather dye came and I started to treat interior pieces. The interior was tan/light tan, I'm going with light and dark grey.

The new foam for the rear quarter piece is a folded yoga mat, installed with contact cement.
