I was quoted $12,310. CDN by a Porsche Exclusive Design Specialist 2 weeks ago. He even used this exact photo as his example.

OK, the only stitching I see is '911'? That thread must be some dammed exotic material, or its hand done by a single Buddist Monk high up in the Himalayas, and the leather is transported only by specially trained Sherpas? At 12K, it does make the Aluminum look gas cap look like a great bargain. I like the seats, but the orange piping would have to have some other orange on/in the car to play off of, IMHO.

I received a similar quote but after having bespoked a Wraith prior trust me it's a bargain in comparison and at the end of the day you can't take it with you anyway. There's multiple stitch and piping colors. That's just an example. And it sounds like you're talking about Bentleys leather sctanton52. They have their own herds so they know the leather has been cared for properly prior to creation.

Same dept quoted me $5,120.00 to deviate the stitching on my wheel with Bordeaux red thread... No matter how I measure the value proposition, unless I'm unaware of being a Saudi oil prince, it's a crazy money spend.

I am indeed familiar with the 'Connolly' leather company and some of its process. I do not think the actual company is still around, but I think other people follow the basic processes they set for high-end leathers. I was just making an off joke (aka bad) about the costs of some Porsche options, but who am I to talk, I did lots of ticking in all of the 3 PCars we now own. Its all good to me.

oh no i agree. the cost is obnoxious. But cars are my one true vice. There are a lot more expensive other ones. And Porsche has always been my true love. Strangely started as a 9 year old watching a terrible Charlie Sheen movie where he only stole Porsches. I immediately took down the Contauch poster and put up a 911 turbo. Left the Testarossa up though.

Three Wheelin'
As always a matter of perspective. There are legions who believe the cost of any Porsche is absurd and "not worth it". Others will pay more for a Patek watch than a fully spec'ed Turbo S.

I agree all a matter of perspective, its what you like and what you can afford to do with your toy budget. We have been fortunate enough over the lest two years to do a good amount of PCar driving in southern Europe. It fits in our toy budget. We even snuck in a few FCar days in Italy. We were in Monaco last fall, beautiful 5 star hotel right on the sea and the edge of the F1 track. That race is on my bucket list. Right next to the Casino, where I contributed a few hundred more to the local economy one night. (Note to Self, Don't Gamble you suck at it) Then you do a walk out around the harbour, and you see that some folks have really BIG toy budgets. I am 100% OK with it all, we made our money in the free enterprise world in Canada, those folks where perhaps a bit smarter and harder working than us, but I loose no sleep over such stuff.

But this little beauty was parked outside the Casino one day. Austrian Plates. It is one of two replicas made. The only drivable one, IIRC. The other replica is in the Porsche Museum, which I saw about a week before I saw this one. I think there might be one of the originals somewhere, but I am not sure. IIRC I think only three were made, some lost in WW2.
Sorry about the sideways pic. WTF, first time this happened to me?

Been eagerly awaiting/dreading this day (as I was too impatient to wait for the GTS). Anyone know how long it'll be before it's on the configurator? A few things I was wondering about the interior, maybe someone remembers what was available with the previous version…
• Are those black seat backs part of some kind of GTS interior package? I know you can already order leather seat backs, trying to figure out if you can do black sport seat backs with the grey deviated stitching and not spend a crazy amount of money.
• Can you remove the GTS embroidery from the headrests?
• I presume a black tach is still a no cost option?

Ah Crap, and now you tell me this. I was just too busy looking at the all big Yachts and the young ladies at the Hotel pool. Wife was OK with the Yachts, but I did have to be subtle at the pool. The statement, 'look at the size of those twin stacks' was only acceptable in the harbour.
