Rear pads, rotors and isolators as they had reached their half-life. The drivers side had a cementite 'sticky' spot for about 5*. Just a quick and dirty job cleaning the wear plates, q-tipping some ceramic paste on the contact points and backing off the shoes.

The rear isolators are silly money....more than the OEM pads which smell like old fish in a dirty sock.

Did a few 35 down to 5 and a couple 50 down to 10 on the back roads...@ 3AM. Starting to show some good even glazing but it takes a couple hundred miles.

My charged A/C system lasted about four months and while it hadn't lost enough to not kick the compressor on, it was not cooling very well. Charged it back up and happy to have cold air again. Looks like the compressor shaft seal is leaking a little so I'll deal with that this winter when I have the engine out.

Did an oil change, and also a power steering fluid replacement. Next is figuring out what's going on with the A/C

Fixed my AC yesterday, today it's figuring out why my new CV axles are banging against the inside of the stub axle. The shaft isn't centered like it should be. I'm thinking perhaps one of the sides was assembled backward by the factory? I may just put the OE ones back on with new boots and grease, they were still nice and tight...

finally emerged victorious from a fuel line job, inspired by the teachings of one 88Silver924S, i used gates hoses and some proper clamps on the old hard lines that I unswaged. also ended up having to buy a $150 hose from fuel pump to fuel filter because the old fittings retrofitted with new hoses just didnt want to go all the way into the fuel filter and kept leaking. also did refurbed injectors and the arnworx throttle seal kit. when i put the thing back together I had totally wonked the idle, and had to learn my way around that a little, as well as found my brake hard as a rock with no stopping power. again, thanks to the extreme kindness of people on here in the face of what must seem like my dangerous fumbling stupidity, I troubleshot that and took the intake boot off to see that the brake booster hose wasnt properly plugged into the plastic tip of the venturi connector.

took the car for a victorious lap around the neighborhood today. kind of a weird deadspot shifting from 2nd to 3rd, not sure whats the deal there. a little burned out on having the car apart, thinking about getting a pro to pimp my suspension with maybe some bilsteins (im mainly just a street driver, havent considered any events, especially until the car is more dialed in). might also have the guy tune this thing more properly and see what his thoughts are on areas of improvement. going to probably wait a little to put on my new oil cooler seal and oil pressure sender (which i have but am too burned to jump right into)

thanks again to the kind folks on here and apologies for how idiotic i must seem. I guess I am ok with it because being a beginner is the first step to learning and I feel like on this project I definitely learned a lot - it's just a lot harder to quickly diagnose stuff without a badass here with me, so it ends up being a lot of confusing words via the internet, where i later discover that what i didnt know at the time would seem painfully obvious to any of you that know these cars inside and out. anyway, thanks again. very fun and very helpful. cheers to you!!

Today I got to see my 944 sitting in the garage. I've been laid up all summer with 2 broken ankles. Just started walking with crutches this week, but it'll still be a while before I can drive the Porsche.

hopefully you put in ATF instead of power steering fluid.

BTW, welcome to RL.

Sorry to hear about your ankles, snb. Hope that nothing permanent will remain..Michael, your living room is starting to look like my shjop with all the new suspension arms, richochet parts and the red poly parts. Let me know if you hit a snag or two when doing the re-install. Presume this is all for the new car, right? What is the round box thingy with the disc sticking out of it? Hope that it all goes back together well..Thanks.

Tiger,

Half of the suspension parts are for the NA car and half is for the 951. All the engine bay parts are for the 951, to replace what got torched. The box/disc thing is a basic ring piston ring grinder I got... need to practice on some spare used rings I have.
