Phone dials are so good looking...greately under rated wheels.
Love them on the 951, love them on my 931

Had the 931 out for a half day drive. Loving the raw feeling and imediate throttle response of these things.
Also, i was never really a big fan of the dogleg....now i'm mad about it.

Looks cool.
When i was younger i used to think that the bridge spoiler is soooo cool but now i prefer the old rubber one mainly because most cars with rear spoilers have rigid spoilers and the rubber one on the 924/944 is really special in these days.

Finally got the vacuum lines switched out for intact ones, and machined a warped rotor. It's nice to have her braking smoothly.

Also, for no particular reason, here's a picture:

Shadedown run at PittRace on GTS-1 944.

-1 lower radiator hose after it met the PS pully. Otherwise, good runner.

Installed Koni sport shocks on rear several months ago. Noticed after last AX the RR was sagging. A measurement showed RR was 5/8" lower that LR.

Swapped L and R shocks today and now it is within 1/4 " after test drive. Not sure why swapping shocks fixed but the imbalance and another AX Sunday. Hopefully it will stay level.

I hate this hatch. SOOOOO much.

I think it started with me trying to solve a rattle or a squeak. I replaced the plastic pin seats using the Only944 parts, but then it wouldn't latch properly, as I guess the previous-owner had already replaced the pins. Back to the old seats.

Then I had trouble with exhaust smell, and I noticed that the hatch wasn't sitting flush with the body - the right side was too high. So I adjusted the pins, but the real problem was that the hinges were adjusted too far back, so I corrected that.

Okay, so it seals pretty flush, but now the right latch is popping open while driving. Made more adjustments, but now the entire hatch is popping open.

Spent a few hours trying to adjust the latches and pins, which involved opening and closing the hatch about 50 times. Ended up breaking the bond between the frame and glass. Fuuuu....

The part that the pin threads into has been modified on my car for some reason - the two holes for the screws have been slotted. Also, the right latch is now broken.

Before I tackle the glass delamination, I hoped to at least fix the latch latch using all new parts.

The new (updated) latch is a bit different.

Result - It will latch, but it will not release. I suspect the delaminated glass is moving and is part of the problem.

Stay tuned for glass 're-laminating' in about two weeks.

Edit - Oh, and it's amazing how powerful 'good' hydraulic lifts are. I know some have blamed the delamination on these - it kinda makes sense now. I wonder if I can make my new ones 'bad'.

Getting there. Weeks of 90+ weather every day is not conducive to torsion bar replacement.

Removed R Rear brake cable from guide tube, and pulled out the entire torsion bar assy for cleaning and parts replacement. L Rear caliper is stuck and will require rebuilding. Ordered new parking brake shoes..PB springs will be ordered today for a full rebuild. Think I will send Dimi my calipers for overhaul..I've O'hauled calipers before with mixed success.Time for a pro to do it..and do it right the FIRST time.

Discovered that my 'won't hold idle' was because I had accidentally dislodged the idle control valve (auxiliary air valve?) from its home in the J boot of my '87 924s. A cheap but frustrating fix for a mistake of my own making.

Long story short my pistons and valves look absolutely perfect..

Man I was dreading to see divots from detonation, cracks in the high squish areas, signs of broken rings etc. etc.

What a relief!!!!!!!!!!!
