Cleaned the leather seats and other leather interior bits using the Lexol cleaner. Let the Sun dry the interior thoroughly before applying the Lexol conditioner. The leather has more sheen to it now, but the big difference is how soft and pliable it is after letting the Sun-warmed interior help the leather soak up the conditioner. Much needed treatment. It was easy to tell I was the first to clean the rear interior quarters. Discovered there is more leather in the car than I assumed. Washed the pollen off the car.

Default Thanks GERALD and ANDY !!!

Just wanted to give a big shout out and thanks to Gerald for letting me know where to get new PORSCHE decals for my rear bumper!

One of the most iconic images in my mind from Germany was the red 928Ss blasting by us on the Autobahn. I loved seeing the big black PORSCHE stamped across the back bumper.

The car I bought was in great original condition, but alas...after 30 yrs the letters were...less than perfect...absolutely no fault of the orginal owner, just 30 yrs old decals.

Definitely took some time and effort, but got them installed to my satisfaction, and fully detailed my car to the best of my ability.

Also, many thanks to Andy Kay for introducing me to Griot's products when he detailed my car last year!

The PORSCHE on the back now brings back some wonderful memories of us high-fiving each other and the Griot's products have the car looking in the words of the local O'Reilly's "immaculate"

Thanks to everyone for their help!

Frank

I did my first fender swap. Of course, I had to do it on the HOTTEST DAY of the year

I found the perfect fender 2.5 hours from home, after a 5 year search, to replace the poorly repaired/repainted one on the car.

I am over the top excited!

Glad to have that done before SITM!!!

Default Office Desk Chair

So, not so much what I did to my 928 today, but what I did with parts of my 928 over the weekend. Since I have two pairs of power black leather seats just sitting in the garage (up for sale too), after redoing my office, I decided to use one as my desk chair. Bought some chair parts, a 1/4" thick sheet of aluminum, a 12v sealed home alarm battery and put everything together into a desk chair. All the power functions work and the chair is super comfortable.

The old office chair will get some feet and become the guest chair - or I may make a 2nd one using the driver's seat from the set so they match.

Now I get the feel of driving my 928 even when I'm sitting in my office

.

For the first time in probably 9 months, I have a seat in my car (driver's side). Rails all cleaned and greased, switches & motors verified as working fine. Just need to bolt it down.

Finally got to borrow my friend's HEAVY duty 32 socket and breaker bar and undid the driveshaft nut.

Now to change the CV boot this weekend.

( not often I get to look forward to a dirty weekend )

For the new location, you would have had to commute south to Vaughan....

I love the looks I get the odd time I show up there.

Are you in Newmarket?

Woman reversed into my left front fender. Put a nice big dent just in front of the wheel

Unfortunately enough to crack the paint.

Among many things I did tonight (yay!), finally installed my CTEK Indicator Panel for easy battery monitoring and charging. No more needing to take out the trunk lining and the spare...just need to plug the CTEK charger into the panel.

Still need to figure out how I'll mount it once everything is put back together.

Finally got around to installing sound deadener in the rear deck area.
(Rest of car is done)

Applied to the spare tire cover, then to the rear deck, being careful to preserve option code sticker and fuel tank access.

Took her out and I was pleasantly surprised you could actually tell a difference, especially at 80-90mph cruising speed on the highway w the windows up and radio off. Didn't think a small area would make a noticeable difference...

Pretty happy w the results!
