Replaced the electric part of the ignition switch and eliminated a handful of electrical gremlins including, random air bag lights, interior lights staying lit hours after removing the keys, flickering radio, and worst of all not being able to start the car at times or turn the key in the cold.
Now I'm nursing my back from the cartoonish contortions required to get to the screws holding it on.
I changed out my interior bulbs and rear license bulb for LEDs a few weeks ago. The pics are iphone grainy..but I think you can get the idea.
Make for a much crisper/cleaner appearance IMHO.
Yesterday, received a new storage cubby to replace the CD holder in the center stack. Man, what a huge effort to swap those out! At least now I've got a place to hold my cell phone.
Drove to work across town this morning in a light sprinkle. I know, it's crazy to even consider, but surprisingly the car didn't melt down.

I was just planning on doing that along with the aux input. Where did you buy it from? Assuming it was 9965522430101C
^ Yep, that's the part number. ECS Tuning, $40.26. Bought some LED interior bulbs and an ashtray delete package to get free shipping. I normally try to buy from Warehouse33auto.com, but Jason doesn't yet stock the console cubby.
I did the aux input cable on my '99 C4. It was also very easy. I think I paid $5 for the aux input cord, just be sure to get a long one.
Went for a drive to enjoy the new exhaust. Wow talk about a more torque.
Stan - What exhaust did you get? I don't remember you talking about it - maybe I just forgot. Looking forward to hearing it tomorrow morning at breakfast. I'll be the guy in the white 996tt blipshift t-shirt that isn't you.

Have you done the aux input with the TT? Mine is an 03 with the MOST audio so may not be as straightforward as the '99 C4 you previously did

I saw 2 options online.
There is a YouTube DIY
Or
Send it to Becker
Are there any other options?
I have done it. My car has a five disc changer. I pulled the radio out of the console. Unplugged the five disc changer and plugged in cable I bought off eBay into the "aux" port which had a Becker plug at one end and a male stereo mini jack at the other. I then had to configure the head unit so it would ignore the CD input and instead accept the mini jack as an aux in. Could not have been easier.
