996tt is getting its cage put in but I bought the lift in the FS section and was delivered 3 hours later - Viper fits and will be throwing the 996 up hopefully sunday
I played hooky and went for a drive...
What the Kansas countryside has lost in curvy, twisty roads, it was given in open spaces where you can see into the next county. How long did I drive? Eight farms as the crow flies. Speaking of crows, my drive ended at the Red Crow brewery. It is amazing how a long drive can clear the head and a cold drink can warm the heart. (P.S. the 996-lifestyle.com site is open again)
Just got finished installing a Numeric Racing shifter. Unbelievable how much better the shifts feel compared to the stock shifter. I can't believe Porsche let these cars leave the factory with those stock shifters.
Took out my Bride rep seats that I bought a few months ago and put the stock seats back in. My not exactly tall wife couldn't reach the pedals or see over the steering wheel with the sport seats in. Not happy because I love the way those seats look and feel. Going to go on the sale block pretty soon.

I don't believe you should be going through so many steps for cable adjustment. Have you watched the videos located on our site?. I will forward this to Dan and have him respond to help you out! - Faith

To say I like your product would be an understatement. The shifter is a work of art and it performs even better than I anticipated. You absolutely may use my picture on your website.
I started out with a what should have been an easy brake job..........
My brakes were lacking some initial bite, so I decided to change pads and discs, and also rebuild the calipers given that everything was still original and now 14 years old.
Everything came apart nice, but when putting the new Zimmerman rotors on, the runout on the drivers side was measured at 4/1000 of an inch (spec is 2/1000). The same high spot was observed with the other disc on the driver side, thus I proceeded to measure the hub. The hub had 1.5/1000th of runout and thus was also out of spec. So I decided to pull the whole front end apart, replace the hub, wheel bearings, and also the coffin arms since these have some damage which appears to be related to improper towing. Interestingly the inner tie rod on the driver side was also shot, and could be felt once I popped the outer from the spindle. Its a strange inner tie rod failure, it almost looks like the cage broke lose in the joint, and atleast I couldn't diagnose it by rocking the wheel at 3&9 o'clock.
I bought the car last summer, and it had never felt Porsche precise. Pretty pumped to have found the issue.
The wheel bearings while still good, probably were on the way out since all the grease was hardened up.
