Good to know that P-Cars run with no problems in Alberta.
I was discussing with the wifey, when the time comes to own a P-Car, if we should do 3 cars (one being the beater) or 2 cars to enjoy all season.

We have 3 cars, 2 year round daily drivers and the 911 for summer fun. I'd like more, but I need more car space.

I'm new to this forum, but not to driving my Pcar in the Winter. Last 10 years my little silver 964 C4 has only been stopped twice - both times by depth of snow, nothing else even slows it down.

Best feeling in the world is a guy in a pick-up truck, beside me at the lights, laughing - right up until they turn green!

Yah i know the feeling, but only with new snow tires. Once they get old, starts to get slippery.

my winter beater (Isuzu Trooper 4x4) died on tuesday, so i had to drive my 944 wednesday and yesterday...

trying to get up a 45 degree hill with ZR tires in 3 inches of snow...NOT FUN!

not to mention i literally could not get the poor thing out of my driveway this morning (my drive-way is long and uphill)....which may have been a good thing cause the roads weren't much better. ended up having to catch a ride to work.

i am totally on the side of guys who say these cars were built for this and that cars were made to be driven, not stored...but i couldn't help but feel so GUILTY driving it around during the snowstorm last night. i was apologizing to her the whole way home.

My 25 years old 944 has been sleeping in a garage during the winter months for its whole life....One can argue that it's only a 944, not worth a lot of money or that it's not even a collector car ! But it's too nice, in my view, to have a 25 years old car with original paint and no rust anywhere, even underneath ! Ah, and I just love her....

With a fresh set of winter tires now on the rear, mine moves through snow like a Panzer heading for Poland!

I agree 100%. and it really has nothing to do with the dollar value of your car. more the sentimental value. My car spends the winter in the garage. I cold drive it in the winter here, there is no snow on the ground now, but there is still a lot of salt on the road.

Bottom line is that I don't want to drive on the dirty, salty, muddy, pot holed roads in the winter. Besides it makes that first drive in the spring much more special!
