Japan is challenging. Ended up in a MK7.5 Golf R- not a Turbo but has a turbo at least ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Probably worth putting the Porsche's FS comment on the NZ Facebook groups - they get more traffic than this thread:

Hi All
Does anyone know how to get in touch with Clive Pilkington? He won't remember this, but as a 16 year old in 1994 he took me for a few laps of Pukekohe. I'd be delighted to be in contact, if that is possible.
Kind regards
Nick (Evennett)

Hi fellow Kiwi’s,
I’m originally from ChCh, lived BC Canada since early 79.
I have a beautiful 2014 Cayenne Diesel Platinum, with an awesome Malone tune had to after the crap dieselgate, what beast.
Patiently waiting for our 2022 718 Spyder, hopefully here in mid August.🤞

Hi, would any Aucklanders here be able to recommend a good place for pre purchase inspection please, and roughly how much this should cost? I've got a quote back from one for $700. It does feel a bit steep to be honest but I acknowledge I'm coming from a history of Japanese boxer engines which never attracted such a premium.
Generally speaking I'll continue to DIY a lot of the usual maintenance items, but one thing I don't have the means to check and would find value out of with PPI is the bore scoring check. Currently looking at an '06 997.1 Tiptronic. It is at nearly 100,000 kms, part of me thinks if it was going to ahve a problem it would have shown up already, other part of me feels it could be lurking and the repair bill would not be easy to swallow

Thanks, they're the ones I've spoken with so far. Just trying to figure out if that figure of $700 for ppi with bore inspection is the normal price in the NZ Porsche world. Are there any other notable/trustworthy options within Auckland for PPI for comparison sake?
Motorscience did mention that a couple years ago they had cut the oil filter open and didn't find any metal which is a good sign. It has changed a couple of owners since then and travelled approx 20,000k's. It's most likely that I am just over thinking it and being overly cautious given the usual inflated online horror stories but you could say I'm just one of those average lower end Porsche newbies who can afford to get the car and regular maintenance but a surprise engine repair bill would ruin me 😅

thank you, have just sent off a query to them as well as Giltrap. Pretty exciting, albeit expensive way to shop for cars but certainly will grant peace of mind..
