The real surprise is how well it drives!
The steering has amazing feel, despite weighing just short of 2T, largely thanks to 51:49 weight distribution, and a really good hydraulic rack.
And the 6sp auto is a perfect match for that huge 6L V12. I know the 8sp is quicker, but if using the paddles, the 6sp is perfect, whereas I suspect the 8sp would just be too busy!
It's a driver's GT performance car, beautifully crafted and wonderful to own.
And 'er indoors loves it, and she's never been into cars but "really likes that silver car" 😊👍

Macca, your comments regarding the wet is one of the reasons I went for a C4, slower, just, in the dry, but safer for a "new to 911" driver like me, understeer built in.
993Man, will probably not do the Kaipara run in the Porsche if it is raining, however, it is safer to drive on gravel roads than in Auckland traffic, I had the scars to prove it! The other guy would not pay up either... Doing the drive day at Puke is exactly what you should do IMHO, it will teach you what your car can do, personally, I hope that it is raining next time, though not too hard! The instructors are brilliant, especially the lead up to the track work. Maybe we will meet on the Coromandel run.

Salut Nick, i'm a French US import in Auckland. I just bought my first Porsche, a 991.1 GT3. I'll receive it on Friday. I'm thrilled.
Happy to join forces anytime for a drive.

Well if you've owned a 458 already, and you are excited about a GT3... that says it all.
Did I meet you at Giltrap Porsche a few weeks/months ago?
Nick

Funny, I’m a Kiwi living in California and one of my good friends here is Pat Quilter, a car guy and most famous for Quilter amps (https://www.quilterlabs.com) and founding QSC (https://www.qsc.com). Not a common name at all.
