The Rapide has such a road presence, is rare, and beautifully styled. The materials it's finished with are gorgeous.
The real surprise is how well it drives!
The steering has amazing feel, despite weighing just short of 2T, largely thanks to 51:49 weight distribution, and a really good hydraulic rack.
And the 6sp auto is a perfect match for that huge 6L V12. I know the 8sp is quicker, but if using the paddles, the 6sp is perfect, whereas I suspect the 8sp would just be too busy!
It's a driver's GT performance car, beautifully crafted and wonderful to own.
And 'er indoors loves it, and she's never been into cars but "really likes that silver car" 😊👍

Just joined up. Years of lurking, finally bought my first 911 so thought it would be good to have some community. All the better if here in NZ. Kia Ora!

993Man, will probably not do the Kaipara run in the Porsche if it is raining, however, it is safer to drive on gravel roads than in Auckland traffic, I had the scars to prove it! The other guy would not pay up either... Doing the drive day at Puke is exactly what you should do IMHO, it will teach you what your car can do, personally, I hope that it is raining next time, though not too hard! The instructors are brilliant, especially the lead up to the track work. Maybe we will meet on the Coromandel run.
Very cool pictures. You can see that you like your car. We will wait for more news about you.

Salut Nick, i'm a French US import in Auckland. I just bought my first Porsche, a 991.1 GT3. I'll receive it on Friday. I'm thrilled.
Happy to join forces anytime for a drive.

Well if you've owned a 458 already, and you are excited about a GT3... that says it all.

Did I meet you at Giltrap Porsche a few weeks/months ago?

Funny, I’m a Kiwi living in California and one of my good friends here is Pat Quilter, a car guy and most famous for Quilter amps (https://www.quilterlabs.com) and founding QSC (https://www.qsc.com). Not a common name at all.

Haha... I know of the QSC amps as I am a technician by trade and an importer of audio equipment via my company - PQ Imports.

Hope you find somebody. I am keen to take my Cayman down to the Sth Island when we are out of lockdown.
