Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
From what I know Max hasn't achieved a net sale within 20% of his lofty asking prices and that includes your old 993 Buba. You have to aim high and be bargained down. In this instance high 50s is probably about right me thinks....unless as John says it has non deferred maintenance net nance done or a "wood duck" comes along.
Everyone has a different view based on what's in their garage.

So guess you are not buying into the Targa's as uber cool (and therefore worth lots too).
I think I agree with Pel, this is the new price reality and most of us have the $$ scares to know they all cost around $50K to knock into some sort of shape.
I will go on the record as saying that any decent, not too many stories air-cooled Pcar is going to be hundie over the next 5 years (as long as we don't have a global meltdown).

The track days as we know them have become more expensive with generally faster cars attending e.g. The 8th is dominated by GT3s and GTRs. The open pit days seem to attract a wider range of cars and may be the sweet spot to keep the air cooled cars out there. Those will be my focus as I enjoy close running. It's a pain that I can't make the 30th. It may well be the NITT until the Z221s get their first use. Plenty of road trip options otherwise so it's not a binary situation. There are many ways to enjoy these cars.

May be slumming it with Toyota 86s...
I think most of our RSG days for the rest of 2016 will be open pit lane affairs.
I'm looking to organise one in the first few days of December on the new full international 4.0km track at HD for half a day. Will likely be 01 or 02 December topped off by a BBQ and we will need 30-35 cars to Arte d to make it work so make sure that one is in your calendar John. Will be first opportunity to do the full track for almost all of us ;-)

Umm been there done that. The R purchase was the result of a logical thinking progression to Gen 2 reliability and track focus. With the C4 and Cayenne being garage permanents, the next toy has to be less investment.
Gen 1 3.4 manuals are still in the $50,000 ball park. Bring those down to sub $40k and I think some will take the risk of putting them on the track.
BTW: What was the issue with Chris B's engine?

The impact here is $1500 out of pocket for RSG which goes against our member fees. We all pay in other words!!
IMO if you pull out late and can't replace yourself there should be a fee to be paid. Seems fair. This ones is going to hurt for RSG. Certainly doesn't bode well for future events.
Anyone (lurkers) who wants to try the track with a good group of enthusiasts highly recommend getting ahold of Pete and coming along....

Paul, is there likely to be a PCNZ track day this year?
That's not good Pete. 10 left out of an originally oversubscribed day means 5 plus have quit in the last 72 hrs!!!

It sounds like Playday will put others into the slots which will help finances, but yes this is an open question that's never been resolved e.g. we had these issues in Winter/Spring 2013 with barely 7 or 8 turning up on the day. Some form of non refundable deposit would help but it seems that there's not the support for that.
Im not sure there needs to be support for paying a fee for late cancellation. It should just be a basic rule like it is with PCNZ track days or any other event your family attend. Common courtesy dictates if you pull out of an event last minute you often loose something. Its like travel or accommodation and should be no different.
RSG are staring at the second bad knock organizing groups since RSG inception that have failed to financially perform. That is no incentive to take risk in organizing similar in the future...
Anyway mark 01 December loosely in your Calendar. It will be more expensive than normal and there will be no refunds a few weeks out but this will likely be the send off for the year and possibly a rare chance to experience the 4.0Km international track. Im sure we can ask Racing Ray along to give us some lines.
