Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
Three Wheelin'
Put one on the brake fluid reservoir at the same time
(see 996tnz post above about water contamination of brake fluid)
EDIT: use a DC-BB not a Hydroguard for the brake fluid reservoir, same website tho.
Cheers,
Mike

I hear you John , I too like Paul should have sucked it up , but it's easy to say after it's gone .
I may not now get a 3.6 T , but a nice Turbo either 930 or 964 T will come along one day , I hope .
Congrats on your progress with the 964 , I read every page and it's looking really good , a big job to take on , I'm sure very rewarding

Brake fluid specs across 60 odd fluids
BTW , great specs comparo on 60 odd brake fluids here:

and just in case anyone misses the gratuitous wet boiling point pic on that page:

I suppose she could be on the way to bleeding the calipers though.

Burning Brakes
Does it significantly help prevent water absorption by the brake fluid by having a dehumidified garage? I have a dehumidifier going 24/7. It's commonly used in aircraft to reduce general corrosion but also to reduce the MTBF of electrics.
I replace my SRF annually anyway despite the expense, as going thru the fence at turn one you'd give your right arm for fluid that wasn't boiling.
By the way Warwick, those seats are going to look brilliant in Mr Black.

Your philosophy is also mine pretty much, hence SRF all round and $500 worth of my pads for the 2KCup cars, along with a Simpson Hybrid head and neck restraint and a 3 layer suit when in those or even when tracking the 996T.
Exactly where we each draw the line on various safety items is a very individual thing of course, but as I said recently, living beats life insurance.
And Warwick, I agree those seats would look great in anything!
Tomorrow will see the last few items completed on Herman before i hand him back, new spring plates in today along with refurbed shocks and all new CV boots on the rear axles.
This afternoon a mate of mine dropped by to lend a hand installing all of the glass, a lot of sealant goo left on the rubber the last time the screen was fitted so all of that was tidied up once re installed.
Collected the bonnet as well, glue the bonnet seal down tomorrow so that can go back on.
Still a few bits to do but should be all wrapped up by days end.

As texted, I have the O2 bung, it cost $10. Getting that welded to the bypass will be good. I can finally check my AFR's live with that and Specialist Components can do a live tune from the UK.
It's all very positive.
I've had no luck with tires. To find correct fitment for my cup 1's have proven to be a virtual no starter and i'm not even being picky about brands! There just isn't anything available. Stuff will filter through with new shipments. The problem is getting a matched set. Theres fronts but no rears and vice versa. Or single tires only!
Best i've got on offer is 225/45/17 and 255/40/17 in a Falkan RT615k and thats for 7 and 8 in rims. The 225 worries me most as while some recommend it i think its to big for the 7 in wheel. It will, not doubt, rub
Standard size tires are 205/50/17 and 255/40/17
I could move to a more road oriented tire but frankly thats not going to offer me any more advantage than what i already have
I've been offered a set of second hand, light, Enkei RC5 7.5 and 9 in in a perfect fitment but they are quite pricey and i don't think avail before the weekend. No other wheels have come up.
