Good work on the seats John. I bought mine around 5 years ago and have been very happy with them. They have seen almost 30,000km of road and track work. Jamie has had his almost a year I guess and I think is happy with them too. They will look great in your car.

John. Brave man. I see you are training for your requirement. By then we may all be bringing you our old air cooled to work on and you will be busier than you are under current paid employment :-)

Nirvana would be a comfortable man cave with all of the tools to tinker and things to work on. Doing it for money would make it a drag. I still remember a local garage I would walk past on my paper round in the early '70s. It was owned by a group of guys with specific skills that would restore old cars together. That's my dream.

Keep this up John and you'll be a one-man race team: manager, driver and mechanic!

In honour of the growing band of 996T owners here, here's the latest take from 911& P World - page 62 onwards (click on Issuu):

FTR, I agree with most of their, including the great steering feel, but I don't agree that they feel good to drive at 3/10ths, and nor is the Tiptronic S lethargic (unless just cruising).

Between this and John's UK-NZ article to come, I'm starting to fear we may get raided too though before too long...

Looks good John, have you weighed them? I can bring my scales around when we catch up if you haven't.

John, surely for the cost of the stands, jacks x 2, you could have paid a professional to do the job, and you could have gone along to play mechanic assistant and almost get the same satisfaction?

Heresy! You can't knock off a bucket list item paying some else to do it for you.

Just returned from picking up BB2. Dave took me out to Wesley and after a bit of pfaffing around its all sorted. Ali the mechanic was working with a light bulb on the end of a cable. The Shifter bolt came off leading to a road side repair when on a test drive. Otherwise the clutch and shift is as new. A few minor things to sort out (speed sensor) but she's mobile and almost ready to race.
