100% agreed.

I have been on the sidelines for the past 12 months, thinking the market is too hot.

This is the first time in about 10 years that I have taken a break from building or subdividing............

If the other driver's a twit, or has a powerful car that can't corner then I'll pull back for a bit, the same as Doug does on our road trips and let them get far enough ahead to give me a clean run.

If it's race cars and GT3s then it's more problematic as they circulate at a large speed differential and ruin my run when I'm getting on it.

With 40+ cars surely we can have similar groups. It's not a RSG day so I'll happily mix with the air cooled brethren. The faster cars and drivers should be happy in their own group as well. I recall driving Pukekohe in the 996TT with the radio on, pulling in 964s while in cruise mode. One of the most unsatisfying drives I had. I can't understand why the faster cars want to run with the slower ones.
My experience in the driving seat of both a slow aircooled and a fast GT3 at the track has been the opposite of yours.

The GT3s fly past me so quickly I never have/need to button off in the 993 meaning my lap times dont get interrupted. I just ignore them as they can overtake me virtually anywhere. As I know and trust the drivers never been a problem.

In the GT3 the reverse is true. I can pass with ease on the straights which is much safer than in the corners. Very little becomes "traffic" in the GT3.

However people in Caymans being driven beyond their skill set on wet tracks gives me the ****s in either car :-)

Frankly if faced with a choice "RSG group" or "unknown quantity" I think I know where I would rather be - especially given we know the names of who is attending in the RSG group and all look relatively sane?

Not doing it for " the sake of it" - think my originals are toast. Starboard Exhaust tip is noticeably lower than port = sag.
Not too concerned about a little more nvh , already have modded(low, HD + H&R) suspension, exhaust, motor-sound airbox & single mass flywheel.
Paul, Macca - what colour pillows? Spokes, really like the look of the Rennline, but WEVO a little less$
Thanks - D

Interesting the 993 is a "Grade 2" under the new ACC levies. Grade 1 is the worst.

Blue from memory.

You should do solid side mounts and replace arm bushes on the rear of your car too - makes 993 handle SO much better.

Yes and 964 is Grade 1

Just paid for the GTI, Cayenne, and C4. $138, $178 and $238 respectively. I blame Doug and Chris

I highly rate the Rennline mounts; I am also running the medium/sport bushings in my 997 and found that while it certainly added a little NVH it is a positive, for the reasons Paul pointed out.

You got lucky mate. I typed my rego for the 993 in and Im grade 1D and apparently have 5 seats!

At least your car has the right number of seats.

Worse still my car is $50 more a year than yours to Rego (and $110 more a year than my GT3 which is apparently a 4D).

It looks to me as if the table is entirely constructed on age. I cant believe they have used such a BS method to work out ACC levey per vehicle if indeed this is the case. I say this because I can guarantee my 993 is safer than a 10 year newer Corolla in an accident?

Tell me this isnt really how they have worked outthe new annual Regos? PleasE?

David, i think my inserts are yellow...

Interesting. Presumably the GTI has better active safety than the Cayenne for it to be cheaper? Once the metal starts mashing I'd much rather be in the larger vehicle.

Walt nw you are assuming there is logic to the method. FAIL. My 993 has twin airbags but is teh same rating as an older 911 without any? Go figure. Newer it is seems lower the premium. Fact is older cars are already recognised by LTSA to be driven less so less chance of accident?
