I read a qoute last night that seemed fitting for this topic.

DE is masturbation not foreplay. Not the real thing, but when the real thing is not available ...

Autocross is foreplay!

PS: I'm a DE guy 'cause I don't have the time for racing. I'd like to be there some day, but there's no assurance one way or the other. So I keep DE'ing and keep learning.

PPS: I never let anyone call my DE experience "racing" but frankly, the average person really doesn't understand the difference and doesn't really care.

Here's something to think about for the "I'm gonna race someday" crowd;
DE'ing your Porsche costs about as much money & time as racing a Miata or Honda or....well, you get the picture.
If you want to...you can.

No one has answered yet, WHY, brand new sticker Hoosiers are needed at a DE.

No one here is bashing DEs or putting them down. Like Bryan Watts said in earlier posts, NO one had even mentioned anything related to putting down DE participants. Comments were simply made as to why sticker Hoosiers were needed for a DE.
Because they are faster. Doh!

I don't actually have to have new Hoosiers (I actually now have Hoosiers for the first time but I bought them used) but obviously even in DEs, you want to be fast. If not what's the point? It is fun to mess around with used slippery tires but in the end, everyone, or at least me, want to go faster.

I don't mean in a way some guys do who have to get an GT3 (instead of their current 993, 911 or whatever slower) so that they can keep up but at least for me, running with slow tires is boring because you don't have enough grip. Same way I want to have more horsepower and better handling but putting a TT motor is much more difficult than getting ne Hoosiers.
I don't give a **** what other DE'rs do when I'm out there but I do car how fast I'm going and more grip & speed I have, better time (pun not intended) I'm having.

If you guys (who critise people having Hoosiers in DE) really don't "get" that, think back when you were doing DEs, you didn't want to go fast(er)?

And racers who say they don't really care about winning... Come on, what are you doing there then? That's not racing, racing is about winning.

"If you're not first, you're last..."

What's the big difference in time commitment for racing in your mind?

How many DEs do you have to win before you start thinking about graduating to world of PCA club racing?

Hmmm.... I think you might be right and see how Kent, I mean Larry changed his avatar as he apparently doesn't want his real identity revealed...

But if Larry the mascot is V R, what costume is he wearing in your avatar..?
