As someone who is contemplating selling my street/hpde car and going amature racing, I can't think of a reason where an amature racer should punt or "rub" another racer, outside of miatespec...

These cars aren't throw-aways, and that video was painful to watch...

+1 Mike. At that speed it won't take much to make it a serious incident...

There's no way the Tafel car didn't see that bright yellow car fill his mirrors or move over to pass. Cupcar99 had him on the front straight and then got a great launch out of T3. He was clearly faster but I guess that didn't give him the right to pass.

Is there even a question as to who deserves the 13?

Rene,

I think you should just give that car to me. Looks like it is more trouble than it is worth

You have to remember the audience here. Words create impressions,
hmmm, interesting source...

Ok, so I've not yet actually raced, so this is a serious question to help me understand. Forgetting for a moment about the spin, is there any way that the bump on the straight coming into T5 is legal? Isn't that a 13?

I guess I'm with Geoffrey.

Who are you and what have you done with Veloce Raptor?

Ha!

Check post #37, wiseguy!

Mike, it depends what really happened. I would guess the stewards would want video from multiple cars to see who moved on whom (despite what we think here). In theory it is illegal, I would imagine.

How about physical violence in the pits?

I just watched it again. (love that sound!) that was some of the most patient smooth driving up to that final pass. you had a huge run on the main straight and could have stuffed him in to turn1, but you waited. got a big run again, and just as the track starts to open up , this guy just comes over way way way too late for a narrow line manuver, as proven by the fact that you got buy him, down shifted a bunch and took a very relaxed turn , even narrow as I saw it as he could have been on the outside.
Then, the bump. That was not cool at all!!

In PCA, any contact will result in a 13 being issued to one or potentially both drivers. The only exception is a mechanical failure. At least that how I was told it works when I talk with Susan and sat through my orientation meeting before RA.

if I was the guy who got punted after getting blocked, reblocked, and reblocked again, and I got a 13, I'd kung fu the crap out of the other guy in the pits.

something in between these two videos...

I'm kidding of course, I'd never beat the crap out of someone at the track because of a clubrace incident.
