Regarding Alonso's miracle save compared to Carlo's crash: I don't believe that AF has faster reflexes than CS. My "explanation" of this miracle would be that AF knew slightly earlier exactly what was going to happen and what he would do, so he was a tenth or so further ahead of CS in the situation, based on many years of collected (and wired-up!) experience. Awesome.

My guess: Ferrari. Why? Newey may be sick of working under a ‘domineering’ individual and perhaps wants to avoid another Horner situation with Wolfe. Also, who doesn’t want to work with Ferrari once in their career, especially with Vasseur running the shop now?

When you look at the video, it’s almost as if Alonso’s response is a ‘Reflex Arc’, which in medicine is a conditioned response that kicks in automatically without needing conscious, (meaning higher brain) input.

There have been rumors of this for months now. I referenced a podcast in November 2023 where Newey specifically talked about having been courted by Ferrari many years ago, but he didn't want to live elsewhere from England as he felt it might affect his new 2nd marriage. He also expressed regret about not having worked with Fernando and Lewis. Now, it seems, if these reports are to be believed, that he might end up in either AM or Ferrari where both Alonso and Hamilton will be respectively and into the new regs. If history is our guide, Lewis has always had the better luck and off track movement than Fernando and Newey would be going to Ferrari. Besides the financial rewards both Ferrari and Hamilton will realize from the move, one has to wonder why Lewis would move from what has been an English based team all his life to one outside the country where he doesn't know the language or culture. As brilliant as Max is, IMO, Newey is the most valuable piece within the F1 world.

If Newey does wind up at the Prancing Horse, it may suggest that Hamilton had this inkling all along.
Pure speculation on my part. But it's definitely possible.
