This is one way for Checo to move up a couple spots from P18
Haas drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen have been disqualified from the 2024 F1 Monaco Grand Prix qualifying for non-compliant rear wings in both cars. They will start the race from the pitlane.

Man I could watch those cars dance through the swimming pool complex all day!! Must admit it was much better 20-30 years ago when the cars were so much smaller, and LIGHTER!!
Their precision and focus is on a totally other world level... tell us how to do that pro-coach!!

I still do not think the reporting is accurate.
On a race weekend all the engineers in all departments are constantly talking about how to setup and develop the car to make it better there and now and in the future. If Newey is still going to races and on the pit wall he would be involved in those discussion and thus privy to technical discussion of what will be happening in the future.
What is being reported is not correct.

"It doesn't matter about your name, he said at Imola. The risk of picking up some current IP on the car, and the future car even more, makes us take very careful steps."

I went back last night and watched the 1991 and 1982 races for fun. The new cars are SO INSANELY FAST, compared to the old cars on the older, quicker course layout. Plus these guys are hanging it out now WAY more. The legends are legends for a reason, but the speeds they were going allowed them more margin than now, in my opinion. It's just flat out amazing...
Forza!

I don't know if this is behind my paid subscription firewall but let's see.
https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/th...wing/10615703/
In observing top-level drivers for a few decades trackside, it's clear to me when the car and the driver are simpatico and equally clear, in a million different degrees, when it's not.
When it's not, the best drivers begin and progress through changes in their control input amplitude and timing to try to influence and drive through the areas where the car is not following their desired direction.
This article is basic and obvious but gives reasonable insight into why some end-product performances are better than others.
Nowhere is this more evident than in some of the fastest cars in the world on one of the most unforgiving street circuits, ever...

BTW, watching and following a few drivers at the Monaco Historique GP two weeks ago, accounting for the course changes, a few top ex-pros (Marco Werner, for example) were tracking basically the same times as the F1 cars in the period (forty years ago) were.
About twenty seconds a lap slower than the current cars...

Wache admits that Newey has already been excluded from Red Bull's technical meetings going forwards.

Newey is at the races and working on the set up/develpement of the car. By doing that he is still in the loop on the future.
The only way Newey will be out go loop is for him to be on true "Gardening Leave", at home trimming the hedges in his garden.

Kmag is probably going to be sitting out a race at this point as he already has 10 penalty points and at 12 you miss a race. Maybe Kmag just needs a CPAP?
You can say this wasn't Perez's fault but by being at the back of the grid, in a faster car, stupid $hit happens. Put Yuki in his car and see what happens.
Ocon and Gasly hate each other and this will do nothing to help that. Probably the most toxic pairing on the grid.

Riding around with Albon, he's going so slowly it looks like he's trying to build a gap to do a qualy lap, every lap.
The brake G's on Piastri are WAY off top performance levels. Just coasting it in through every big brake zone, taking as little as possible out of the tire.
Great management of the race (Fangio-like) by Charles.

KMag “should” sit out a race with all the penalty points accumulated. Bearman gets a shot in his seat perhaps?
