He then went to Alpine and in his first year beat Ocon on points and scored a podium at Zanfoort. This year, the car has been horrible, but managed to score a point in Monaco. To me, Pierre is an underrated driver.
Agreed - I think Gasly and Maybe Bottas keep seats. Agree with the rest.

I'm afraid those days are long gone along with drivers like James Hunt whom The Lord employed.

Today more than ever money makes the F1 world go 'round, not fun.

They need a few characters in the mix. The new generation of drivers are too polished and media driven. I guess Eddie Irvine, Jacques Villineuve, and Kimi types are a dying breed. Bottas seems to be sort of like those guys. Yuki to an extent.

It’s Official: Alpine and Ocon have decided to part ways after this season.

If you are saying that Ocon would make sense with Hulk because Ocon's driving style is similar to Magnusson's than I agree with you!

That being said, I think Ocon should be shown the door at F1.

I think he's much better than recent form would suggest. Anyone could become suicidal driving for Alpine.

French-German driver lineup for Audi seems right, maybe. Toto probably lined something decent up for him, think he's still mgr.

If Sauber/Audi are serious in building a winning team for the future; Ocon ain’t going to help!

I just don't see Ocon as a team player.

I don’t think Ocon belongs in an F1 seat. I think there’s a chance that he lands at Haas or Williams next year, but I hope some fresh talent joins the grid instead.

I don’t think Ocon’s driving skills are his worst attribute. He’s a race winner. His issues center around his maturity, emotional intelligence, and situational awareness. He’s grossly lacking in these areas. Any of his current or former F1 teammates would likely agree.

I personally think Ocon and F1 are done with each other.

He’s Romain Gosjean 2.0. Highly skilled driver, but that’s it. No brain.

I was pulling for Herta in the Detroit race. Unfortunately he was taken out of contention by a bad tire strategy call, followed by a driver mistake. That race was his to lose… and he did.
