The production of the 918 absolutely imho helped drive prices up of cgt. cgt was a steal and bargain compared to the enzo and McLaren of its era.

In full disclosure I have cgt and 918. As I said, Porsche all the way!!!

 

Interesting observation - I am one of those CGT owners that never has owned another Porsche. I'm curious why others don't as well.
For myself, I love Lotus and Ferrari...these are the brands that are visceral to me.

by the way, the euro lost rougly 40% within the last 12 month.

if a dealer sells, the price is including the 19% sales tax. only if you export you can skip it. but for a german you cant deduct tax. only if you buy it for your company and i guess the revenue service wont accept that you drive a supercar. and most dealers wont sell themselfes, the sell in comission, otherwise they would have to give liabilities on the car, but i am no tax expert...

That car will sell fast, in fact I heard they already have someone on it. I know the yellow car they had which didn't have a clutch measurement or anything sold overnight for nearly that. Insane, makes me feel good though because my white car is climbing quick!

 

It's that good - not many Ferrari guys wander from the brand.

Know a lot of guys that have had or want a CGT for their collection and none are Porsche guys.

Heard about a collector who owned quite a Ferrari collection and one 1 CGT. He had asked a broker to help him sell some of his Ferraris. When broker inquired about the CGT, he was told by the collector that he would NEVER sell the CGT because if he did, his son would never ever speak to him again.

 

For MODERN Supercars, I think the list should/could go.

Thats top four from the last of the analogue era. The earliest carbon based chassis for the road. I think you find in 30+ years this is what people look back and want the most based on rarity, drivetrain superiority, rawness and style. I dont think the F40 with a turbo fairs as well.

All the Paddle shift cars will be one step under.

Having these four, you touch on BMW and Mercedes as engine builders as well. If I had unlimited funds thats the collection I would build.

Im lumping together Carbon Chassis, manual shifted cars and I should have clarified that in my first post better. Anyway the CGT is in that small crowd.

The 959, 288 GTO, F40, Miura, Countach cannot be part of this group.

Expanding generally to the early supercars era, HELL YEAH of course they are on that list of the best of the best.

But It is my personal view that over time people will pay up BIG for the carbon chassis analogue supercars. IDK just a thought.
