CGT Prices

I'm not sure how to read the market anymore...thought we saw new highs recently with cars in the high $500k and low $600k and now they are selling in the high $700k...not sure that I feel comfortable with the increases being that rapid but what do I know...for the smarter guys here...anybody care to venture speculating what is driving the increases and who are the buyers at these prices?

Enzos $3mm, F40s $1.5mm and air cooled 911s $500k = CGT $1mm

The best part - anyway you slice the market CGT can hold it's own against the F40 F50 and Enzo.
I would be concerned owning an F car at that price but the CGT - it's got plenty of line left.

I hope I'm just paranoid but in our President's 2015 State of the Union speech, he said (exact quote) "And let’s close the loopholes that lead to inequality by allowing the top one percent to avoid paying taxes on their accumulated wealth. We can use that money to help more families pay for childcare and send their kids to college." Hmmm. Accumulated wealth? Maybe someone can straighten me out on this. Don't get decoyed, ducks do and you see what happens to them.

Some of our reps. are floating a Guaranteed Savings Account and now a MyRA. ( just do a web search for details) I live near DC and know a lot of govt people and they know what's going on in the background.

I think some of it may have to do with an "educated paranoia". If someone has some cash accounts, I believe our govt has sights on it. In 2008 California US Representative Miller from Cal. said on the House floor that "the largest amount of cash is sitting in CD's, savings, brokerage and retirement accounts, some of these people wont need that money for 20 or 30 years. This is a national emergency, we need it now!" Pretty plain to me.
I don't think they will take it but who knows. Greece tried it and riots ensued. They have since settled on a plan of slow confiscation. Negative interest rates. Germany's bonds have recently turned negative. Germany and Japan confiscated after the second war. Some South American countries more recently.

Having said all that, I'd rather have a cool car to enjoy than a piece of paper with some figures on it.
