I got a call from my broker, asking me if I was interested in a Senna with a 1.25 million MSRP for 900k. Car had 266 miles. So 350k back of MSRP.
This was just the initial offer, before any negotiations. I told him that I will be interested in the Senna in a few months time, as I think Senna value will continue to drop. I think the Senna is a very cool car, but the Mclaren brand trashed their cars value like no tomorrow. I think this would be a great car at 650k.

Current market value of GT2RS is 50-60k back of MSRP for wholesale and 30-35k back of MSRP at retail for regular color cars.
Current market value for Senna is 275-400k back of MSRP at retail (depending on how high the MSRP is).

Yeah, the peak-to-trough crash and burn of the Senna's is probably the most spectacular in terms of sheer $$$. It seems like the GT2RS would have it beat in % terms, though.
Maybe one day, when the TDFs routinely trade for MSRP (let alone under), we can add them to the conversation

Retail @ $400k back presumably for the super high msrp cars ($1.2m +)?
I havent seen that but I suppose asking prices dont mean much these days.
The trade in values must be good bit back of that...

Yeah, I was surprised by the call from my car broker. But that's just where this covid market is at the moment. Mclaren's financial problems, numerous special editions of the Senna, and Mclaren's reputation for poor quality control, has taken a toll on the resale value of any Mclaren's. I think the only modern Mclaren that stood well against deprecation was the P1. It would be interesting to see how the new Speedtail fare in the next 3-5 years.

Fwiw, one hard core car bud of mine was recently seriously considering a Senna, and decided to pass, at least for now, as he wasnt keen on spending $800-900k with their current financial situation being shaky.
Hopefully, as a company, they sort it out, as they build some great cars (I have owned two before, though not ultimate series Models)

There are 120 US Senna's a few XP's that most will never see the light of day and not even sure the Can Am cars made it to the US - what are you talking about too many editions. Mclaren watches their Senna owners like a hawk as do the dealers and no offense if you ever want to be on their list after they read your post good luck unless you can back it up they don't take 350k off msrp on an Ultimate Series car lightly. The hoops I went thru to buy the Senna had nothing to do if I could stroke the check.
Speedtail what are there 4 US and none street legal - if guys at that level are worried about depreciation they got much bigger problems.

Sorry for providing such little detail. It was a senna with about 3000 miles. I was contacted through my local broker who said it was a quick sale kind of thing. However the lowest one i have seen posted has been 845 and it didnt last long

Thanks - I saw that one and yes it went quick - tracked Senna will take a bigger hit. Think we should go back to CGT's

^^^Quite ironic: why buy a Senna if not going to track it? I get it, I do, but still ironic
If I'm ever in the market for one, I'll look for one that has taken the "track depreciation hit" cause u can be damn sure I'll do the same. It's like blasphemy to not take that beast on track. If any recent road cars have been designed with track in mind, Senna is it, no?!
