Isudar Carplay for PCM 3.1
#751
Hello, I habe been reading in this post that Joyeauto and Isudar interfaces allow a non OEM backup camera, but I haven't seen any video on how it works. My car does not have OEM backup camera but parking sensors. Does it works like the OEM camera with the sensors picture(original) and the backup video? How reliable is? i'm planning to install it on a Macan Turbo 2014 to upgrade to Andorid Auto and backup camera, but I my priority is the backup camera.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi,
Recently I changed from Joyeauto to ISUDAR (991.1, PCM3.1). I got this version from November:
- CX301: BSJ1211124-1124
- software version 2.2.1
- Hardware S7.B
I‘m experiencing issues that others also have mentioned in this thread like stuttering music, bluetooth connection problems, sudden Carplay aborts with black screens asking me if my Android (actually my smartphone is an iPhone) would be connected for the first time etc. And every other day I have to delete my Bluetooth and have to connect it again.
Yes, I have double checked antennas, cables etc.
I bought the new version from the ISUDAR shop, but their support is not really supportive.
Can anyone send me the download link for the January version? What I read before I assume this version would solve most of my problems.
Thanks, Marcus

Track Day
- If I press the source button, the PCM system version pops up.
- wireless works for about 10 min after first setup as a new connection. After that, it won’t connect. I cannot connect when entering car (maybe iOS issue?)
- if I switch to radio (fm), and go back to CarPlay, FM continues to play and no audio from Isudar. Screen works and screen functions but FM audio won’t stop.
- randomly everything freezes and about 2-3 min later I can use touchscreen and/or buttons.
- just about every other issue recently posted.
- carplay volume is like a whisper. Reading text cannot be heard. I tried adjust volumes but no luck.
- when using USB, works about 80% of time. Then freezes and cannot do anything.
pros: with the EQ settings, my crappy Bose system sounds slightly less crappy. Happy! (When it works)
I also have the large interfering XM module. With the extra standoffs, got it to package. Ribbon cables are really tight to get disc slid in. I’ve checked 3 times and think all are connected.
I ended up cutting a slot next to XM antenna to route cables with a dremel.

Three Wheelin'
I have the same configuration in my car. The non OEM backup camera doesn't use the original interface, it has a custom one. In terms of reliability, please check my previous post, the issues I am facing are: 1) although reverse camera engages automatically regardless of where you are, the front PDC interface doesn't engage unless you are in the original PCM interface (they should be able to fix this), 2) I get random crashes/reboot of the system when I engage reverse, 3) the PDC interface on Isudar lacks detail/precision (just fixed "bars") and sometimes PDC "bars" don't reflect reality until you start moving.
My iSudar is a 2.0 board running 12/14 software/firmware.
Sometimes I experience a connection delay to CarPlay, but less than 10s. I also have the steering wheel back button issue but that doesn't bother me.

Great news on the fix !
Interesting thought on the Wifi bands….mine has always been 5Ghz I think .
As we all know 5Ghz is faster than 2.4….but shorter range….wish should not be an issue in a car .)

You’re right - actually I also preferred 5 GHz for these reasons. But I experienced music to be stuttering - when I „downgraded“ to 2.4 GHz stuttering stopped. I don‘t know if it really correlates, but it helped :-)

For black screen issue, I did encounter once and the solution I did is to disconnect the wifi from CarPlay and reconnect and it fixed the issue.
