Hey gang,
I have a Chinese PIWIS III running 39.7 and 39.8 (selectable at boot).
I don't have the option in the instrument cluster to rescale the boost gauge or the coolant temp sensor. It appears that I can only access certain TPMS variables under the instrument cluster.
I've read that software v38.2 has engineering mode which has more options. Is that my best bet?

You should upgrade to something newer, latest version AFAIK is 41.8. And yes, E Mode is where you want to be just DO NOT select P, stay with V or E.

Given that's all you want to do, go to the forum's Regional Section, find the one you live in and request help from a member who already has PIWIS. Personally I would own my own copy and for that contact @rnlst_log . Lastly make sure the VAS version works with the PIWIS one. For 40.8.xxx it needs to be 1.6.6.0; accept no substitute. Nice to see that v 41.0 supports DoIP.

2. There is a torrent file for 4.410 version around. But the *.tib Lucifer mentions brings 4.400, which could be more than enough for a beginner. Besides, the torrent file with 4.4100 version does not include the Wiring Diagrams.
3. No link for keygen generator. I managed to extract it from mounting the 4.41 version using VMWare. This is not easy and I would not be able to guide on this. But this is the only way to get the key generator.
4. Once you get the generator, it is another history to proper use it. If up unitl now seems a nightmare, I would suggest buying the USD 500 plus user friendly solutions.
5. Getting the VCI dongle to work on the version I got.... I will make a follow up if I managed to do it. I am just a curious guy... so I would suggest being resourceful, comfortable with handling BIOS setups and distmantling laptops... it is not an easy feat... but doable.
Good luck with the journey.

I managed to install it and make it work
My question is do i need to do all of these to put it to engineere mode ? can developer mode do coding ?
This Offset is hard
1. Find the file: D:\PiwisApps\PIDT\PIDT\Pidt\plugins\de.dsa.pidt.datatype.jar and copy it to your desktop to save it to change.
2. Open it with WinRAR and then search in the WinRAR windows the file: \en\dsa\pidt\datatypes\utils\Helper$1.class and drag it to your desktop, after copying it delete it from the archive and leave the WinRAR window open.
3. Open Helper$1.class on your desktop with Winhex and go to Offset 7: 34 -> 32 Offset IB3: 9A -> A7
4. In the still open WinRAR window, withdraw the saved file and click OK. Now close WinRAR.
5. Copy and overwrite the new de.dsa.pidt.datatype.jar file you just created in D:\PiwisApps\PIDT\PIDT\Pidt\plugins.
6. Copy the aftersales.sig file to your desktop and rename it to development.sig Copy this file back to the
Folder.
Aftersale.sig is located located in D:\PiwisApps\PIDT\PIDT\Pidt\workspace and in D:\PiwisApps\PIDT\PIDT_MIG\Pidt\workspace
7. Do exactly the same Method as above with the folder D:\PiwisApps\PIDT\PIDT_MIG\Pidt\plugins\de.dsa.pidt.datatype.jar
To transform it in developer: Settings > Diagnostic Configuration > 981-991 > Mode > Operating Mode E= development, P=Production, V= Aftersales (Regular
PIWIS 3) Other model lines > Mode > Operating mode E= Development, P= Production, V= Aftersales (Regular PIWIS 3)
