WTH? Why is there no thigh bolstering AT ALL? There's more bolstering in my wife's MDX.

If it's not Long, Pobst, van Overbeek, etc, I have to question those times...and wonder if they are representative for Porsche drivers.

as much as i love p cars. given equal driver, c6z06 will eat up 3.8RS like pop corns. add cooling and brakes.... the latest z06 doesn't blow up. i know of MANY 3.8 and even 4.0 blowing up (not many 4.0, but many 3.8). i would have bought a new c6z06 but the sales person didn't't speak my language and failed to get the papers ready in less than 1o mins after i got in the door so i left at 10min 15 seconds. my attention span is kind of short.

GM is mindful of the more common rear end now days. Not gonna sell the car if you can't fit

Not debating whether they're faster or more reliable, nor the issue of value. Just wanted to know who was driving for those times. Pobst times posted (thank you!) very useful. He can drive both/any, no question.

C6 ZO6 is a formidable machine. Wasn't impressed with many aspects of the early ones I drove, but I understand they are much better now. As for the new Vette, I think I'd be more interested in a C6 ZO6 if visuals count for anything. Can't deal with the Transformers rear end, and that's no good because I'll probably be seeing a lot of it.

Yeah, but what about those thorax bolsters? Fatty's not gonna fit in them anyway. It looks like they used the same bottom cushion for the seat (no sub belt pass through and no thigh bolster) for both the regular and 'competition' seat. All they did was replace the back portion. It's only 1/2 a seat!

That is odd about the seats. I guess that the upside is that only half of the seat needs to be redesigned.

I smell an aftermarket opportunity.

Brakes, cooling, seats, roll bar, aero at a minumum. Suspension also if you want it to handle the power out of the corner..

RS really only a roll bar is needed.
So go to Chevy dealer, pay $60-$70K and start tearing it apart and install all this stuff voiding any hope of warranty?

I see more Corvettes breaking down than Porsches in these parts.

Yeah, I can barely stomach Porsche dealers and they at least pretend to try.
Driving feel you get used to and going fast is fun. But the value part? Mods will quickly put any Corvette over 100K and only 3 year warranty compared to 4 years Porsche or even better CPO, no mods like me and you keep all warranty.
The main problem is it's a Chevy with Chevy dealers, warranty and resale value. Yes they go very fast.

Looks like they poked 2 holes in the seat and called it a day, same bottom useless cushion that you cant take out at the track.

We have NASA nationals on the outer loop this year so I just had the full W2W cage finished up.

1:56 is flying. Is your car an ST1 car or ST2? I'd like to make it to NASA championships this year, but it's 28 hrs driving, so, um....no. Unless I can find transport.

$1500 each way and it takes a while...
if you can miss your car a week before and a week after it can be set up.

If you have the time probably easier and cheaper to just tow back and forth..

Yes, but I think VOID if you show up with all the mods you need and who really goes over 50K miles?
At least our cars look stock when we show up at the dealer.
