Hey! that's my Carbon Z06 and it's $3K less than what I paid for. It's one hell of a car and 4-5 seconds faster than 3.8 RS at Thunderhill. All it need is OMP seat, alignement, hoho R6, rear wing and sways

Love Porsche, but if the 991 GT3 is going to have a "base" price of $ 145k I will be looking elsewhere for a track/street car, either new or slightly used there are many equal options available, including the 997.2 RS and the C6Z06 is definitely on my list as well, not sure about the C7 yet

Want to get back to a dual purpose instead of the hassle having to trailer my ride to the track

Sure hope Porsche is not going to raise the prices to a level of $ 145k base, I guess we will have to wait another 2 months to find out

Wish I could buy it, but have to sell the E36 first
But for $ 79k new you cannot beat it IMO

and ... 0% for 60 months so you pay as you go. It's a sure thing 991 GT3 or RS will have sky high MSRP

To be real, there are tons of cheap ways to go track driving.

I have a Formula Ford for sale that will beat most p-cars. Crossle 45F, 16K, car-enclosed trailer, 3-sets of wheels new slicks, new rains, complete spare pkg. Winning log books. Ready to go racing. How can you beat that? Spec Miata???

Take it to the racing forum; this is the no-trailer posse here (myself excluded).

I am sure Porsche is counting on that you will buy 2 at that price.
I am not moaning about the price, I am just stating that at a rumoured $ 145k base price, the list of alternatives are growing rapidly.

I still like to believe the base price will be lower (+/- $ 130k)

I do not see why they would need to raise the base price by 26%, while it still has the CL failure, no Mezger but the much cheaper non-track proven 9A1, electric steering etc.

Just saying a $ 79k new C6Z06 looks extremely attractive in that light, even a C7Z06 (or whatever they might call it) at $ 100k is somewhat of a "bargain"

Just my 0.02

OK. That's cool.
If the data is accurate this is great stuff. oil temps, tire pressure, friction bubble and laptimes.

My POS TPS never worked for more then half a session on my aero beetle. They do always work on the street..

Can't be any worse than the bright colors from the RS.1 and the checkerboard stickers from 3.8 RS or the 4.0 stickers. How bad is it when the manufacturer has to put stickers on the car so people know what it is??? Talk about Rice..... Bright colored wheels for attention, big wings, colored side mirrors, 60 year old round headlights. Man you guys are selective in your bashing. Double standards I tell you. At least hold your marquee to the same standard that you hold everyone else.

Peter, I'm giving you pass since you are Germerican and expected to be Porsche blind, but not the rest of you, shame on you!!!

Dez/Rad tagteam in effect!
Agree on stickers, but they are just stickers, which I don't have in mine.
I love the 60 year old headlights. Much better than the hideous 996, which was an atrocity, love even more the fact that I can see a 1964 911 know that is a Porsche, and look at a 997.2 or a 991 and still see the 1964 in it.
A lot more to it than just .... well raw speed, which is always welcome.
All in all, I haven't seen a FAST Z06 on a DE blowing everybody's doors, specially in 'stock' form.
To be honest not even those 'race' look alike from Breathless Performance cars. They blaze by the straights, and if they don't blow up they park in the corners, and most of them running slicks.
Would love to see a fast one or at least one that runs with us all session same pace in fairly stock trim.
