New Corvette...
+1. Get a Z7 Z51 with harness and you would have a great track day car. The fact that is only ~ $50K makes pushing your luck at the track more patable.
Saw it in person last week. It looks very good. Some of the details are fussy and could have been better integrated, particularly the removable top. The worst part is the cut line for the hood. They had a mock up of the interior on display behind glass. It's didn't look too bad, perhaps comparable to a 997. I was struck by how low and space efficient the car is. There's a lot of empty space behind the seats.
I was surprised to learn the car will come with MPSS run-flats.

This has been a fun read guys.Seems that most of us who "track" cars know that GM builds to a targeted price and sacrifices preminium items (ie. interior) to meet intended market.
When the C5 Z06 arrived, GM provided a Vette that was capable being pushed all day around a road course.
The C6 Z06 was a BIG step up over the C5.
C6 Z06 Vette's needed help with brakes (2 piece rotors go a long ways) and the LS7 engine did have some early issues.
From what we know it appears that GM is really trying to provide a C7 Z51 ready to take to the track.
There's a new LT1 engine (from the block up), new frame, electronic rear differental, etc. that should move the C7 to the next level.
We'll know in a few months after the car arrives and is track tested.
Bench racing makes good conversation... true results will show up on the track.
When do they start delivering? A few of us track junkies should get a no option Z51 early and beat the crap out of it just to see if it holds up. If it does not, warranty and sell without much loss I would think. Just need to pile on say 20 track days of research withing a few months.
Rad??
Rad??
C7s are supposed to start arriving at dealers in fall 2013.
As an aside... GM are supposed to be breaking ground on a track in bowling green ky, across from the vette museum, sometime soon if they haven't already.

I had a nice bolt in roll bar in m C5Z06 made by Pfadt racing, but this is the kind of thinking GM never seems to manage. It should have been designed in with mounting points.
Nope...no deposit in on the 991 GT3. Staying with my GTS for awhile till 991 GT3 comes out and then ill see how things are going with work and such.
Since State Farm is no longer insuring cars for DE's I'm looking into track insurance and I'm in shock at the moment.

Some insurance companies still do. Deposits are refundable.
