I think it's a great bargain in terms of performance. That being said, it doesn't appeal to me visually and most importantly, no manual trans immediately results in no consideration.

Aesthetics are certainly a personal taste, but I'll clarify: I think the new Corvette is overall a much better looking car than the 600LT. The 720S is a different story.

It is, particularly in a strong colour (e.g. Mantis for me) - and the view from inside is fantastic and highlights what can be achieved with light - weight high - strength materials (and a price point to match). The C8 to me, looks great up to the B pillar and after that its not so good. In fact I suspect the packaging has come with challenges hence the blow out from behind the B pillar.

Because they lost sight of their brand identity. I have had 2 CTS-Vs - a gen2 556hp manual sedan and a 640-hp gen3 sedan. Very fast cars, but they should not be Cadillacs. They tried (are trying?) to be BMW and it isn't working. They should be unabashedly American luxury. Big cars, high end luxury and style, comfortable cruisers with modern capable handling but NOT focused performance cars. Yes they should have a small block V8 option but not to be a track star. That's why Escalade is so popular - it is the most Cadillac-like Cadillac. The CT6 with the V8 is a great way forward, and it is on death watch.

You can watch the Leno vid posted earlier here and it does look odd. But it's just another thing to get used to. A year or so from now and no one will think it is odd.

I like lots of cars. Vettes have never been appealing to me. The proportions of this latest iteration don't agree with me and its something that doesn't imbue any Vette heritage. Take a 1965 911 and put it next to a modern 911 and you know what your see there. With this Vette, no idea. I'm sure its an upgrade performance wise for sure. For the money though who cares. Not much more than a Camero $$.

Yes, reservation in for a Z51. Excited for future Forced Induction + Hybrid versions this could enable but just looking to replace my track toy (was about to pull the trigger on ZL1 1LE).

The more you black out / tint the rear end the less obnoxious it will look IMO. The row of buttons is also the other annoyance but I can live with it I think.

^^^ Why, I see it as a game changer for Corvette/GM as it is literally that - but in terms of mid-engined sports cars its not e.g. Alfa 4C, Alpine, Lotus Elise - Exige - Evora, endless Lambos, Ferraris, Mclarens, GT4 and Spyder. It does deliver HP relatively cheaply and that will appeal to some. However, you won't convince someone that owns a Lotus 430 Cup (430HO ~2100lbs) to give up a light weight car with very high levels of driver engagement for a C8. Would I trade my 720S in for a C8 no - but I would definitely try one out. I have no doubt at its price point it will be good

So paying more money for a car is more important than how a car performs??
Maybe I'm misreading this.

Did you get the price difference for the Z51?

A lot of other P-car owners are making the same decision process. Porsche opened up some opportunity for the C8 with the 992, IMO.
