Thoughts on the new corvette?

I took delivery 3 weeks ago. This is a 2LT. I am more than impressed with it. It is a fantastic daily driver. Fortunately I have none of the extreme fitment problems that a few have had. Interior is well put together and the exterior as well.
I have owned a couple 911's, including a 991.1 GT3.
For me, this is just not in the same class as the 911. However it does compete nicely against the AMG GT, Jaguar F Type, etc.

But for me, the C8 ride quality is amazing, and i think better than those others. It feels much more GT than sports car, which is great for DD. It will depend on the persons preference of course.
But overall, hard to beat for the price.
I am getting ready to order a 2021 911, and expect that to be as killer as the other 911's I have driven.

No plans on selling the 991 Turbo S or 996 Turbo Coupe for now... I love both of them and the C8 will need to be pretty special to earn a long-term spot in my garage. We shall see!

Crazy. But I'm ordering a new C8 convertible on Tuesday. Ceramic Matrix, 2LT, Z51, most items blacked out where possible. I was giddy when it looked like you could deck out a new C8 nicely for under $70K but as always, I keep checking boxes and with it being convertible I'm not a few under $90K. I'll keep the 981 Spyder just in case the C8 doesn't deliver the total experience. And if it does, I'll sell the 981 and buy a used 718 Spyder in a couple years. I'll figure out how to post a pic soon but you get the gist.

Well used ones that cost $62 are going for $90's, so I don't think you can go wrong. GM data shows already the Corvette is most likely cross-shopped with one car and that is the 911S. I have a C4, live in Colorado, but I'm counting the times I really need the all-wheel-drive. For $90 it's a good bargain versus a base 911, compare to a loaded up 911, you can almost by two Corvettes. With 200,000 already sold, during line challenges with Covid, Porsche has themselves a competitor. Tell us how you like it? How long is your wait?

Mine was finally built yesterday... Now, after waiting 18 months since deposit, I get to wait another 3-6 weeks for delivery.
Porsche has plenty of option codes, here's what I ordered in corvette speak...
2021 C8 HTC Z51 1LT in ELB.
(MSRP and sale price of $74K)
Should look a bit like this, but in the newer hard-top-convertible body style. No plans to get rid of either of my beloved Turbo's at this time...

But ironically it was looking at several F430s that led me to putting a deposit on the C8. GM was almost certainly looking right at the F430 and 355 when they designed and spec'ed the C8...

Ha! lol
Well, you're right there, but as we all know, it's Temporary. It'll have to go in the Spring or sooner. (Wish I could keep it but I truly don't need 4 vehicles.
But seriously, that C8 should be awesome... I really fear the performance of the ZO6 and / or ZR1 future versions, based on the starters numbers.

I'm just thrilled they didn't neuter the performance of the base trim or restrict Z51 to higher trim levels...
There is absolutely NOTHING in the 2LT or 3LT packages that I need in my C8. It's a GM, and I don't expect the fit/finish/materials/cabin-luxury to even come close to the 991 TTS. I bought it for one reason only, a bargain mid-engine V8 hoonmobile. A Pantera without the headaches. An F430 without having to wait six months to get it in to the only decent Ferrari indy in our area. And I'd rather keep the extra $15K out of the C8 budget to feel less guilty about also keeping 996 turbo.

GM managed to deliver over 20,000 C8s last year in the US. That's DOUBLE the number of 911s sold here.
If you can't get one, you don't want it bad enough yet.
